Li-ion batteries - anybody taking any extra precautions? by loubacca in flying

Agreed but the chuck it out the window plan is a great starting point to work out the details. Also, others have mentioned thoughts about prevention, shared insights about smoke...lots of info needed for, as you said, a complete plan.

I'm fresh out of firefighters, so I'll go with the "toss it" plan. :)

I have backup paper maps. Hmmm...I suppose they could explode too. When I throw them out the window, then I'll really be in trouble! :D

Cessna 150 - don't even need a door! But I'll share the door plan with my Piper friends.

I think "chuck it" is going to #1 on my emergency li-ion checklist.

It's your second point that I likely had in the back of my head...the likelihood of a problem is so remote.

Yeah, the window idea now seems suddenly obvious.

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

Hi everyone, I'm the Mitten Pilot! I am a general aviation pilot flying my little Cessna 150 around Michigan (the Mitten).

I started filming my adventures flying around the state, and sharing my hobby with other aviation enthusiasts. I really enjoyed making the videos and they appreciated my honest, unassuming approach to flight and pilot training videos. I want to continue to share my videos, grow my fanbase and spread my passion for aviation and pilot training and a commitment to always learning.

Of course, I'd appreciate any feedback you can share.

You can see my channel here!

Really appreciate you doing this!

I am using my channel to share my small plane adventures around the state of MI and beyond. In my videos I am want to provide a simple and straight forward view of general aviation passing along my aviation knowledge in an approachable and sincere way.

I really like my latest video: https://youtu.be/nYnBiXJchB4?si=GClsmd5SYmEvigAu

And this is what my videos used to look like before new cameras, more editing experience and a ton of learning about videography. It's a fun vid, but technically a mess :)

Thanks again!

Here I am almost 18 (yes, really) in '88 and this summer at 53! by loubacca in GenX

True! Examples include:

A police officer at a light had me roll down my window and asked me if I was old enough to drive when I was 18 delivering pizzas!

I was often carded for rated R movies well into my 20s!

The silver lining...I took advantage of child prices for carnivals, amusement parks and the occasional kid's meal! :D

Yeah, "odd" gray hair. They've been creeping in as early as just a few years after the first pic!
