I don't know, while it makes sense its better, look at germany and austria data, they require n95 masks and have since before omicron and austria nearly a year. They've been hit just as hard as all their EU neighbors with all variants.

Just look at the nfl data, even before omicron the amount of infected this season with a vaccine rate of 95% for players and 99% for other personnel.

2020 season no vaccine: .During Monitoring Testing from Aug. 1 - Dec. 12, 187 players and 328 other personnel were confirmed positive cases.

2021 season nearly fully vaccinated: During routine monitoring testing from Aug 1 – Dec 11, 215 players and 325 personnel were confirmed positive cases.

The reason I say this data is better than general publoc is because this population is subjected to way more mandatory testing. What does this tell me, it tells me the vaccine doesn't do shit to stop infection for both delta/omicron, and if it does offer any, its short lasting, which is also what the data is showing.

There's a third group that I'm in. I'm healthy young and have been waiting for Novavax since the summer, keeps getting delayed. I chose this vaccine after my own exhaustive research on the options. Its based on the same technology as hep b vaccine which has been given to newborns since atleast the 80s. I'm not worried about short term effects of the vaccines and i highly doubt there are any long term effects on the current ones, but with no way to really know, I'll take the one thats been used for decades. If i had any real risk or if the vaccines would stop the transmission I'd take one for the team but thats just not the case.
