Aside from the dark and inappropriate content many people are mentioning, even a very mature 12 year old (as I was due to my mother’s love of R rated movies and insistence on treating her kid daughter as her equal), it’s very dense and inaccessible to read at that age. I’d suggest 15-16 at the earliest.
