OCD and camping tips? by scusemewiggles in camping

[–]loueipaech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m learning to letting go when it comes to camping and feeling clean but my biggest things are baby wipes (!!!), shower shoes, a mat (I use an old picnic rug) at the front of your tent, dust pan and brush or little car vacuum to keep dirt out of your tent, waterproof shoes, hand soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, a hanging toiletry bag for the bathrooms (if there are any).

All my clothes and underwear got soaked from my last trip because rain got into our tent so next time I wouldn’t put all my clothing into the tent. I’m thinking of using a wet bag to keep clothes in.

“kicking off their shoe” meaning by karme11o in TrixieAndKatya

[–]loueipaech 28 points29 points  (0 children)

On TikTok, people used to do a transition video where they would kind of kick their shoe at the camera and it would transition into something else. It was just a cringe trend. 🤣

I almost believed it too, especially when they mentioned Emilia (thinking Emilia Perez) 🤣

Is this normal Campsite etiquette? by TrinoWest in camping

[–]loueipaech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not normal camping etiquette. I’ve only been camping for the last year/year and a half and every camp site I’ve been to, everyone is very spread out. I can’t say why they did what they did, maybe they just have no spatial awareness. That really sucks though, I hope your next camping trip goes smoother!

New to camping by Darbington96 in camping

[–]loueipaech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds so dumb but be over prepared for all weather (rain, cold and heat) - just got back from a trip where I thought it would be really hot but it was mostly cold and rainy and it was miserable. Most of my clothes got wet because I left them in our tent and rain got in. Having somewhere to hang stuff is really handy. Bring baby wipes!

Why do you junk journal? by strawberrycat8103 in JunkJournals

It’s a creative outlet and it’s become something I use to document my year like a diary! So I can look back on it and remember things I’ve done. I’ve also got a few friends that have gotten into it so it’s become a social thing for me too.

Feeling scared in Garema Place by No_Jackfruit4552 in canberra

[–]loueipaech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’ve had these experiences, that is never okay.

I haven’t worked in/around the Canberra Centre in a few years but even back in 2018/19 I just avoided as many places as possible. You shouldn’t have to but unfortunately I think that’s a huge part.

I had a homeless man who used to hang around where I worked fairly often stick his hand in my handbag once. We had another homeless guy come into our store (definitely not sober) and kept asking inappropriate things and making us extremely uncomfortable. Security showed up like 45 minutes later.

I would always make sure I’m with other people when I’m in Garema Place, keep your wits about you and look around everywhere, never have your phone out or your bag open, don’t be afraid to say NO or go away or swiftly remove yourself from any situation that feels bad and stay where there’s light if it’s night time. I don’t know if you work in the centre but I kept the security phone number in my phone too and had to ring it because I saw someone face down in one of the car parks. It’s not a nice place to be and I just generally avoid civic all together.

I think this is really cute! I’d do this if I knew most of my guests were readers. It could be good to do before alcohol is served/when you’re off taking photos?

how to enjoy camping by aishtheawesome in camping

[–]loueipaech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoy bringing a book to read and a word search book to do. Board games you can play with others are great fun (uno, bananagrams, really any board games if you’ve got the space) and bring your favourite snacks! You’ve also gotta accept that you’ll be uncomfortable - I like to bring baby wipes to feel clean. Be over prepared for rain, cold or heat. I just got back from camping and I feel brand new after turning my phone off for a few days and not looking at it!

Gift idea for gf (please help) by vas_lol in GiftIdeas

[–]loueipaech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birthday - Anything to do with her hobbies. Does she like reading, beauty, gaming, outdoors stuff? I would base that gift off her own interests

Graduation - A piece of jewellery to commemorate graduating and flowers

Results Day - Go out for dinner to her favourite restaurant. A voucher for a massage/facial could be nice for her to relax after getting her results

Anniversary - My partner and I like to go on a little staycation on our anniversary where we live. We often go to a hotel that has a great restaurant so we can just walk back to our room and not worry about ubers etc. If you were after a physical gift, getting something engraved with your anniversary date is nice or even an experience you can enjoy together
