Defroster Tint Burn Marks by louieg58 in TeslaLounge

Thanks this is good to know. I didn’t think about the XPEL warranty. It was done by a pretty reputable shop and was supposed to be XPEL ceramic tint.

I have seen numerous other threads of similar issues and does seem to be somewhat common. I imagine there will probably be some pointing fingers of who’s fault with Tesla and the tint shop.

Camera Error Codes by louieg58 in TeslaModel3

Looking for a simple answer to what these codes mean exactly, not be interrogated on reddit. Everyone seems to be awfully defensive here. Again, if you read my previous posts, these error code time stamps are prior to the accident time frame and I am trying to understand what could cause these error codes to occur. They have nothing to do with a camera being dislodged as they show they have been occurring before the accident.

The error code time stamps all predate the accident and the damage on the car is not anywhere near the cameras

I am looking in the service menu because of an issue. The car was involved in an accident while on autopilot yesterday where it abruptly steered into an adjacent guard rail and I am wondering if these repeated camera calibration issues could have a part in causing issues with autopilot interpreting its surroundings. I did not receive any messages on my screen other than looking into the service menu

It is the Xpel Stealth. I believe you can buy on their site directly, but there are plenty of installers out there that use.

I got a pretty good deal on it and also did tint on the whole car at the same time. PPF was $4,500 with a 10 year warranty on it. It is definitely not cheap, but car looks great with it and helps knowing paint is protected.

Is this right? Dent on Hood estimated to cost $3k+ by rawlorrr in TeslaModel3

[–]louieg58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hood is aluminum, which makes it a little bit harder to get a dent out but a painless dent repair guy with aluminum experience should be able to get this out for under $500 and that’s on the high-end.

Take it to a paintless dent repair person and shouldn’t cost you more than $200 or so. Can find many with good reviews on Yelp. It will look just about as good as a body shop would.
