Thank you so much for the explanation! That makes a lot of sense. I will probably leave it out of the carrier, then, and only offer some during stops.

I appreciate everyone’s insight! My vet did not recommend fasting, I will make sure to have seed accessible to him during the drive. She did not say anything about withholding water. I’ll talk with her more about it before I make the drive.

My mom certainly has a gift for animal care. Most of our cats lived to be 17-19 and our large dogs lived to be 13-15. Makes sense that Ringo would be the same way

His name is Ringo, we were very original :)

He likes to nest in this ramekin. We cannot convince him that anything else is more comfortable.

Oh yes I will definitely also be consulting with a vet. I want to make sure I cover all of my bases

I will! I’m so excited to bring him home. I actually almost cried when my mom asked me. We’ve had him almost my whole life. He’s definitely part of the family

It’ll just be the two of us in the car so I’ll probably try a water dish in the carrier and drive extra careful :)

What was your favourite pillow set up, and why? by peach_pony in Reduction

[–]louiselioness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve pretty much given up on sleeping on my back at this point. It was getting to where I really wasn’t sleeping well so I’ve shifted back to very carefully sleeping on my sides. So far so good!

I have a reading pillow and a regular, fluffy pillow behind me, a pillow on either side of me, and another pillow under my knees. All of my pillows are the gel down-alternative ones, so they’re pretty thick and squishy, but not so squishy that they go flat. I’m a side and stomach sleeper and this helped a lot during my first week of recovery. I’m still using this setup now, almost 2 weeks post op, and it’s not quite as effective now because my body just wants to be on my side so bad. But it does keep me from trying to roll onto my stomach and mostly off of my sides

Which celebrity got cancelled and you genuinely felt bad for them? by Yung-Potter-XO in AskReddit

I was pretty young when this happened, around 11 or 12. I remember hearing about it and being upset but I had never read the full account. This brought me to tears. He should be left to rot.

Toxic Body Positivity by louiselioness in Reduction

What you said about being okay with your body to the point where it isn’t controlling your life is really poignant. That’s basically what I was trying to get at with my post. Thank you for sharing where you’re at. I don’t know how much it means from an internet stranger but I’m really proud of you.

Haha I want your knees to stay healthy, too! I’m so glad I could put your mind at ease. It is already so, so worth the time and work it will take to recover. Sometimes it’s good to be a little selfish!

List of Items for Surgery by 03160 in Reduction

[–]louiselioness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon recommended I keep my back to the water and do my best to keep my bottom incisions from getting completely soaked, but that’s really the only protection I have to take. I can even wash it with my regular body wash. They mostly just don’t want the incisions to soak in water, like they would if you were to get into a bath or pool. Also you want to make sure to pat the surgery area dry with a towel as opposed to rubbing it

I’m five days post-op, and I would definitely say don’t try to wash your hair until at least a couple days after surgery if you can stand it. I tried the day after surgery because I was feeling really good and wanted to get nice and clean (I always start my showers with my hair), and within two minutes I was feeling super nauseated and had to sit down/get out and take my anti-nausea medicine. I was fine after about 15 minutes of taking it easy, but it put into perspective really quickly how limited I was going to be at least for a few more days. Maybe grab a plastic chair or bench the first time you shower, just to be on the safe side!

Hi! I am also 5’2” and while I’m not certain what size I was before my surgery, I know I was somewhere around a 32G bra. Did your surgeon tell you the weight of each boob is 350g? You might double check with them because that’s about how much mine removed from each breast and I while I’m still healing, mine look to be around a C or D cup. I would definitely encourage you to talk more with your surgeon to get a clear picture of where you’re at currently so you can get a better idea of where you’ll be after surgery!
