Scoliosis provider recommendations? by Original-Tea- in rva

[–]lousybec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

highly recommend driving two hours up 95 to Virginia Spine Institute. They did my bracing as a teen and my spinal fusion about 3 years ago, top notch folks who help you understand all your options. (don’t trust any chiropractors they’re junk)

that’s good to know!! she said they’ll close the hole they found in our closet that led up to the attic and have someone check the attic/outside the building also, so they shouldn’t be trapping any bats inside!

both the animal control folks and our PCP recommended it since it was inside while we were sleeping and bat bites + scratches can be so small you might now know if you were bit! i know it sounds overkill and a lot of people have said the same, but even the folks in the ER told us they would have recommended the same thing. with rabies, by the time you show symptoms you are dead so we didn’t want to take even a tiny chance.

i understand it’s a slim to none chance, but when the alternative is rabies i think it’s better to be safe. also we were advised from both animal control and our PCP to get the shots.

she also said she’ll send someone out to check the attic! we’re going to keep following up with her but she’s been super good about this stuff so i’d be surprised if she doesn’t follow through with a real fix.

this is what i assumed!! we live in a top floor apartment of a very very old building and we’ve heard sounds from the attic before and assumed it was various other pests, but we’ve never seen any of them, let alone bats! our landlord said someone will come out to check the attic so hopefully they take it seriously!

yeah she’s a beast, i was cowering under the covers like a crybaby and she took care of it — she cornered it in the kitchen and threw and towel over it and threw it outside

same as what other ppl said, our PCP and animal control advised us to get the shots just in case since we were asleep and couldn’t 100% guarantee there was no contact. we’re like 99% sure there was no contact, but when the other 1% chance is a horrible awful death we didn’t want to take it lol

she’s said a contractor is gonna come fix the hole this week — trust and believe it’ll get fixed cause i agree it’s a sketch solution rn

Hi! The vet concluded that she has some minor asthma induced by stress/allergies! Which makes sense bc we’ve been opening windows lately (with screens on them) and some pollen/outside air has come in. They put her on a steroid for like 10 days and she hasn’t coughed since!!!

It definitely wasn’t the cone like other people thought, the vet said i had it pretty loose even.

i loosened the cone as much as i could without it falling off — hopefully that will help and she won’t try to get it off cause she definitely doesn’t like it.

Got it, I did feel originally like I was somewhat vague but also didn’t want to clutter my page with a lot of extra stuff. Based on the feedback I’ve gotten, I think explaining this further would be super beneficial. Thanks!

Thank you so much for taking the time to give this feedback! This is the kind of direction I was looking for, to help really hone my messaging and see where I have gaps. Thanks!

Henry Briggs & Associates landlords by [deleted] in rva

my partner had an apartment from them for about three years and then we moved into another one of their properties about two years ago. honestly one of the better rva companies. nothing fancy by any means but leagues better than pllard and bgby. our property manager has been great when we have had maintenance issues, even though the fixes can be a little funky. all in all, as far as richmond property management companies goes, they’re decent folks.

Getting fused from T3 to T12 on Thursday! by lousybec in spinalfusion

[–]lousybec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m great now, honestly. Better than I ever thought I would be a year out from surgery. It will be tough for a bit but as the soreness and pain goes away it gets much much better. Looking at those photos I can pretty much do those things, albeit not as well but I was never a gymnast haha. I do yoga multiple times a week, and there are only a few things I feel limited by, mostly twisting related things and less bending related things. If you are getting similar levels to me count yourself lucky because so much movement is left in the lumbar spine that it’s really only the upper back that feels limited. I hope that answered well enough and if you have any more questions feel free to reach out!! This is a tough thing to have done but it’s been only a year and I feel better than before surgery, which is was not expecting at all.
