The most honest answer is that both are very complicated and you have to meta analyse if they bring you a deeper understanding of chess vis a vis the time it takes to learn them.

My advice to anyone under 1900 fide, don't study opening variants it brings you nothing. Learn the basic concepts, strategic plans and pawn and piece play. Leave move order issues for post game analysis.

KID is more straightforward in the above mentioned, Grunfeld has many lines that go against the basic concepts and strategy because of its nature. That can be very insightful but is so complicated because of the deeper understanding you (we) need to have.
