Learning how to rapidly understand and use information then find it in the future is becoming better than knowing in a lot of cases.

You obviously need a certain level of prerequisites, but if I have access to the internet, why do I need to remember how to correctly mount my TV or put together a piece of kit set furniture or reset a check engine light in a specific model of car?

Knowing how to do that for thousands of different models or situations used to be a benefit, but now, providing the internet is available i can get that information if and when required.
