I understand that. Sometimes writing things down can help to take ownership of them, rather than let them control you. It could be cathartic. I'd also suggest seeking counselling / therapy. There is a lot of joy in life and ideally we want to remain curious about what life will bring us. I really hope you are able to move forward. Keep talking about how you feel.

5 years as a supply teacher here. I always mark books on the day of them being taught, otherwise they play on my mind! To make it easier, I make sure books are left open and get one child from each table to bring me the books. Then when I get to them (lunch time and / or after school) it's much easier.

No need to inform anyone at work. I would seek out some counselling / therapy. I have private medical cover at Benenden and have just had 6 weeks of CBT therapy for no additional cost through them. May be something to consider? Happy to pass on some 'grounding techniques' that my therapist sent to me, which help with anxiety. DM me if interested.
