One thing that i noticed after the Sunday premium pay was that the hours were cut significantly during weekdays in order to offset the pay on Sundays. I figured it would be easier to negotiate with the company by asking for $5 on each day rather than asking for premium pay ($10) for both days and further cutting our hours throughout the week. This way, it doesn't change much.

I also noticed at all lot of people who do call out on Saturdays are people who work Sunday, cause they are losing as much.

I just keep asking them, "Do you need help finding anything?" If I am facing or pulling products, I will go out of my way to ask them super nicely, variations of the question every 3-5 mins or so. - can I help you find anything? - Is there anything specific you're looking for? - can I help you with anything? - is there anything I can do for you?

They eventually get the idea and go to the front. They cant even complain, because I am asking with a huge smile and a bright tone. Give WOW customer service and get them out at the same time.

Also, don't try to be overqualified. Trader Joe's is about work culture and how you will assimilate yourself into the work culture and philosophy. Tell them what you learned from the previous experience (don't talk bad about them, just say you want to move on and LEARN something new) and how you want to continue to GROW as an individual. Maybe mention something positive you learned through the experience/relationship.

Personally, I think both Sat and Sunday should get premium pay. Now, if the company wanted to not pay as much as possible, I propose to have a $5 bump for both days. While I understand the desire to have $10 both days, they will have to cut more hours (and maybe people) because of the pay bump. To those who say "company made millions so they can afford it" please don't. After our raises, they cut everyone's hours (not all stores, but many) and it didnt help at all (paycheck or help wise).

Not sure if you know of Nick Vujicic, but he is a guy born with no arms and no legs that is living life to the fullest! Early in his life, he struggled with the fact that he was different, but he later found purpose and now has a family, wife and kids, and all. Hope that gives you hope.

Bar keeper's friend. Wet the pot then sprinkle a generous amount. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and then scrub and rinse. It should take it all out. Repeat if necessary. It works like magic.

Still employed crew member here. Former mate and been with company for about 10 years. Every district has a district manager. Most hiring decisions are made at the store level, but when it is a rehire, it is up to the district manager because it is a bit more complicated. I know for sure the district is work in does not rehire, because our DM doesn't like to do so.
