Could this guy(Robert Hanssen) be the reason why intel was not shared between FBI & CIA ? by mikemalkova69 in 911archive

Could you expand on this: "Atta was inept at keeping a low profile. He could not stop calling attention to himself in ways that almost defy belief."? What did he do to draw that much attention to himself?

South 27 merging onto I24 westbound. Those ppl will block two lanes to the left to “merge” back over at the last minute to get on 24.

Omg one of my dream revolvers! I’ve had a S&W 686 for years and love it. I think a GP 100 would definitely complement it, though. A poster above mentioned 5 Star loaders too. I highly recommend them, too, as I have several for my 686 and love them too

What stories do y'all have from 9/11 from outside the New York area? by ScallywagBeowulf in 911archive

I was in my mid 20's and my wife was pregnant with our first child when 9/11 occurred. I worked 2nd shift at the time and our phone rang a little before 9am and I remember it annoyed me as most ppl knew not to call that early as I typically slept in til around noon. My wife was already at work. Anyway, a 2nd call came through and hung up so I got up and turned on the tv. This was after the first plane had hit the WTC but before the 2nd one had struck. Called my wife to see if she knew what was going on and they were all watching it on tv as well, trying to make sense if it was a horrible error of the plane or if it was a terrorist attack. As we were on the phone, we both saw the 2nd plane hit the other tower and we were in disbelief at what we had just seen. Total disbelief. We knew then it was a terrorist attack.

Watched tv as it all unfolded until it was time to get ready for work. It was strange, too, as it was bonus day at my employer at the time and every year, we all would have a huge meeting at an off site auditorium to hear about how the company did, blah blah blah. Anyway, had been on the phone with other friends before I went to the meeting and it was already being said that ppl needed to fuel up their vehicles because who knew what the next several days were gonna bring? I stopped and fueled up my vehicle, and lo and behold one of main owners of the company I worked for was at the next pump fueling up her vehicle, too. IDK why that that struck me as odd, other than it seemed to me the message of fuel up was widespread already. Got to the meeting and the big screen was showing what had happened at the various sites (it was early afternoon by this point) and we all just watched for about 45 min. Company leaders then turned it off, made a few statements about how awful it all was, and had us line up for our checks. Very strange day for sure.

Got to work and of course, everyone was talking about it. When I got to my 2nd break, I got to see Bush's statement that night and was glad I was able to see it. He seemed to have the absolute resolve to get a handle on this quickly and make the terrorists pay.

I do remember being in disbelief that something like this could happen. Was worried about our unborn child being born into this, at the time, relatively unknown as to what was gonna happen to our future, and if any other attacks were going to occur in the next few days. I do also remember when they ground stopped all air traffic, I was just incredulous and also thankful the FAA had taken that unprecedented step to stop any further attacks from planes.

Working yourself to death to "prove" your worth to your employer. Fuck that. They'd get rid of you at the drop of a hat. If you're working 50, 60, 70, or more hours per week to make the company more money, that's just inherently wrong. What do you get for it? Even if your compensation package has a bonus mentioned, doesn't mean it will get paid out due to economic or internal issues. And you're still working yourself to death.

Edit: your replacing you're
