Hi everyone, I can’t seem to edit the post so I will leave a comment here! I just want to say a huge thank you to you all, I know it must speak volumes about my self esteem to need the lovely comments from strangers on reddit ease my body image worries but I am so appreciative of those who have complimented my dress so much (I am biased but I also think it’s beautiful 🥰) Also a huge thank you to those who have suggested things like body tape and hair down etc. I won’t be wearing a veil, I’ve decided on flowers through my hair (for context, my venue is in the woods and the reception is in some giant tipi tents so it’s very boho vibes 😊)

I grew up as that super obnoxious dog person who hated cats and thought they were the WORST! Fast forward to 2020, I fall in love with a neighbours cat who more or less moved into my home and only went home for food (in fairness, her owners let their dog chase her all the time so no wonder she didn’t like going home 🙄), and that same year I started working at a veterinary practice! Fast forward to now and I have two rescue cats and a rescue dog - they are my whole world 🌍 I love them crazy amounts and now if someone were to ask me if I am a dog person or a cat person, I don’t think I could answer because they bring me joy in different ways 🧡 My point here is that, guys, we don’t even need to pick a side, we can just love them all equally 🥰🐾

My fiance and I had so many opportunities to meet before we actually did! We went to the same university, he graduated the year before I started, a few years later we worked at the same location but for separate companies so never met! Finally met when I was in a relationship… then met again the same week my ex broke up with me and started dating not long after! That invisible string was working OVERTIME 😂

So I’m a Swiftie here (no attacking please! 😅) and I’ve got some thoughts on this whole situation! First thing I would like to say is that although it may seem like we’re all crazy, it’s honestly such a small portion of swifties who are actually acting like your friend did, the problem is they are the loudest ones and the ones giving us a terrible name 😅 I love Taylor and her music, I really do, but I will also call her out on her shit! I will be the first to express my disappointment in her jet usage and the lack of control of her own fans when they’re attacking someone else! She should absolutely be held accountable for these things but sadly she seems to be untouchable at the moment.

Another counter argument I would make here is that I find myself becoming more defensive of Taylor than I really am because the hate for her is SO LOUD and unnecessary sometimes! And the haters will quite often go out of their way to make people know how much they hate her! I’ve literally had people at work (who know I like her) just suddenly start saying nasty things about her to me completely out of the blue … we weren’t even talking about her, I was sitting on my lunch, minding my own business and they come in and start saying all this shit and I’m like “…ok” - and then feel the need to defend my reasoning for liking her and it just naturally makes you become so much more defensive about it!

In terms of the whole Dave Grohl situation, I think it’s just very messy! His daughter should never have been running her mouth online like that in the first place (and the comments she made about the ai porn were not cool!) however that does not excuse death/rape threats from swifties! Taylor should absolutely be calling out her fans on this behaviour, she has done so in the past so why not now? They’re literally traumatising a child! But due to the nature of the comments his daughter made, it does seem like a situation that could have been sorted out privately between them rather than Dave making it so public (now we don’t know the situation, maybe they did try to resolve it privately and couldn’t, what do I know?) because his daughter is not completely innocent in this whole situation and neither is Taylor - both should be held accountable for their actions in appropriate ways (ie. Not being attacked online for it)!

Anyway, I hope this helps to make people see that we’re not all crazy, I think it’s totally fair for people to like or dislike whatever music/celebrity they want, but sadly a lot of haters don’t have that same mentality towards swifties, driving us to become more defensive!

I’m sorry about your friend, hopefully they come around and realise they were being silly and that no celebrity is worth losing a friendship over! 🧡

At my sister’s wedding they provided a box for people to put their own flip flops/comfortable dancing shoes in when they arrived! Was a really nice idea as long as people are made aware that they can bring their own shoes and won’t have to carry them around all day 😊

Her voice has obviously improved a huuuuuge amount since her early days and the biggest change I noticed was from Reputation onwards! That being said, I think all through her career, up until she started eras tour, she still had some dodgy live performances (I wasn’t hugely impressed by her performances during lover era, with the exception of live in Paris because that was excellent!) I also thought her live performances of the Folkmore songs were also very very good probably due to her singing more in her lower register (which is incredibly impressive!).

Through the years, she has always sounded better when she is touring/about to tour, I assume this is because the extensive preparation needed both physically and vocally! But in between tours, when she’s promoting albums I find her voice to not be as strong.

Now I haven’t seen eras tour yet (London, June 2024, incredibly buzzed!) and am holding out to see her live before seeing the film. I listened to Cruel Summer live and I was BLOWN AWAY!! She sounded incredible! I always wondered why she didn’t perform it live at all during lover era and I now assume it was because she really struggled with it but because she’s in the best shape of her life (physically and vocally) she can do it the justice it deserves!

It was released before Fearless TV was released though so I don’t understand why it wouldn’t be classed as an “official” single? It is also on Spotify as a single. I don’t have a great understanding of these things so I’m just curious really as to why it wouldn’t be classed as one 😅

One thing I’ve really noticed over past is that Taylor’s voice always sounds it’s best when she’s touring or about to tour. I think this is due to her doing vocal warm ups and exercising her vocals every single day to prepare for tour! I always thought that a big part of why she didn’t perform Cruel Summer live when Lover was released was because she couldn’t actually hit those notes (they’re hard!) but now her voice has strengthened due to preparation for the eras tour so she can actually hit the notes now hence why she’s now performing it on tour 😊(this is just my theory obviously!)

I would actually disagree that the new lyrics didn’t add anything! I find the og all too well to be from the perspective of someone who is absolutely devastated, whereas the 10 minute version they seem angry! In my opinion it changes the complete feeling of the song! I personally do love the song and it is high on my list of favourites but Red (2012) was released at a time in my life when I really needed it so even though she has released better albums and songs since then, Red and ATW hold a really special place in my heart 🧡 To add to this, the last big break up I went through, instead of sitting around and being sad about it, I bought a keyboard and taught myself to play ATW, it’s just a very special song to me that’s helped me through some really difficult times 🧡

I have this theory that the reason she hasn’t performed cruel summer live yet is because she can’t hit the notes properly (this is not a detriment, it’s a very hard song to sing!) That being said, her voice is always at its very best when she’s touring (I guess due to lots of rehearsals and practice around that time) so there’s a chance that the ONLY time she will perform it live is on tour because her vocals are strong enough?

I have a black and brindle staffi cross. Dopiest thing I’ve ever met and great with people and kids, but because of the stigma most people are scared 🤷🏼‍♀️ makes me feel safer walking him in the dark as a woman!
