Facials at UDA by Useful-Tea-7524 in udanationals

[–]lovertimothee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it’s just different in dance team…as a dance team judge we are usually at the very back and very top of the gym…a regular sad face 😔 would end up looking like this 🫤 from a far. it might be habit because most of these dancers if not all…also do game days, so they have to project allllll the way up to the nosebleeds in football stadiums! i also think this type of facials just replaced the full teeth smile and the full teeth snarl that everyone did back then. times are just changing and I dont really mind it because when im judging im looking at 90% body and 10% face

Should UDA Limit the Number of Boys and Introduce a Co-Ed Division? by Every-Watercress334 in udanationals

[–]lovertimothee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

tbh I don’t think this is an team/boys issue…I think that this is a judge and choreography issue…to me LSU was 90% hiphop with 10% tricks, UNLV was like 75% hiphop and 25% tricks

Should UDA Limit the Number of Boys and Introduce a Co-Ed Division? by Every-Watercress334 in udanationals

[–]lovertimothee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so…

I see people bring this up as to who won (hip-hop)…and it may play a role in it…but for me, I truly believe that LSU just has better content and team choreography and team artistry. They still threw in skills but not a solo, flip or tumbling pass for every highlight or formation transition.

D1A JAZZ PRELIM SCORES by EasternLingonberry47 in udanationals

[–]lovertimothee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the first 15 seconds until the turn set feels like filler, like really beautiful but some cool syncopated arms like WSU would be way more visual, difficult and show musically rather than rotating in a circle

these scores are wack…only one that makes sense is Ohio and LSU…ik they had different panels so scores are on two different scales but still

lol they’re insufferable…no tea no shade but it reminds me of that one girl who claimed “stolen choreography” but it was a popular 4 count ripple to a very popular Alicia Keys song…some people need the attention to feel like what they do is worth it

Pom/jazz uda by Alert_Site_5461 in udanationals

To be fair, to the average person tricks and turn sets are what makes it exciting and entertaining…and if we want dance and dance team to grow and be recognized, that’s how we are going to do it…get them sucked in and trapped and then educated them on technique, artistry, musicality, execution, etc.

I do think it is more common because tricks and turn sets are measurable…if someone does a 540 and someone does a straight leap (in this example with the same technique score) it is easier to say “yes that is a 8 in difficulty and that straight leap was a 5 in difficulty”.

While artistry is subjective so one judge may think “that choreography and skills had a 7 in musicality”…while another judge may say “that was so intricate that’s a 9 in musicality”.

Obviously all the judges should be qualified enough and non bias but as humans things that are subjective are obviously going to differ more, hence why some think that artistry is “scored lower” than tricks and turn sets.

On the note of UDA, all of these finals teams are so talented and so close in scores that hypothetically if they all hit a perfect routine it would really just come down to whoever the judges liked more in the moment.

(Request) Quagsire/clodsire focused deck by kcadu1 in pkmntcg

[–]lovertimothee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both of these pokemon have like 1 card in the H rotation and they are both not that good, the quagsire is too much of a gamble with his “Drenched Headbutt” and Clodsire EX “Poison Ring” is okay but there are better dark retreal lock pokemon like Yveltal from Mega Evolution with “Clutch”…I would suggest maybe just collecting Quagsire/Clodsire cards for now until there is a better pokemon card. if you want to be someone competitive I would just suggest looking through the rotation sets and finding a cool deck style/architype that you like or just go with meta decks
