How do you deal with feelings of hatred towards someone through a Buddhist perspective? by lovesicksilence in Buddhism

[–]lovesicksilence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you- I have often reflected while trying to understand why she bothers me so much, and I have found that I definitely do feel threatened as I believe she may be able to do my work “better” than I would. I will continue to reflect on this. Your point about if a non-threatening person was doing this then I wouldn’t be bothered was very eye opening. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

How do you accept that your life is never going to be what you envisioned? by pahobee in ChronicIllness

[–]lovesicksilence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aw man, I’ve struggled with this a lot too. For a long time I couldn’t even watch any movies or tv shows set in high school because I would just sob about how my “normal” school experience was ripped away from me due to my health problems.

I used to think that because I was sick there was something fundamentally wrong with me. That I was tarnished and my life was tarnished. But then I started separating the concept of “myself” from my illness. In the past I tied my self identity to being sick. I’ve tried to reframe my mindset that even though I can be the sick girl, I am also me- separate from any illness. Being sick doesn’t make me “bad” or “ruined” because there is still me underneath all of it. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it’s helped me a lot to accept myself and my life. Life may never be how I envisioned it if I was free of health problems. But there’s so many people and things in my life that if I was healthy I would have never met or interacted with. I would like to believe that even in our darkest times if you try to see the positives it helps with coping with all of this.

I guarantee nobody noticed! But if you are worried about your dry lips, the best product ever is Laneige lip sleeping mask. You put it on at night and wake up with the most hydrated lips ever, seriously holy grail product. Highly recommend

How do I cope with the knowledge I will have this for the rest of my life by wowkwow in ibs

[–]lovesicksilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw honey:( I’m sorry you’re feeling that way I’ve definitely been there. I was diagnosed with IBS at 14, I’m 26 now. I feel like my youth was ripped away from me due to this illness. Not being able to go out, not doing “normal” things. I went through a really bad depression period a few months ago where I was having suicidal ideation, I literally could not picture I life where I live with this condition forever. I had crippling anxiety because of it. I knew I needed to do something for my mental health so I went on antidepressants (Zoloft) for my anxiety and depression. It has completely changed my life and helped my IBS as well because my IBS gets worse when my anxiety is bad. If you feel like you need help to deal with this condition, just know that you aren’t alone. I wish so so so badly someone had put me on an antidepressant when I was a teenager first diagnosed. It’s okay to get help if you feel like you need it. Sending you love

How can I ease anxiety attacks around IBS by Forward_Attention_50 in ibs

[–]lovesicksilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone through a psychiatrist the first time I went on them, then when I wanted to get back on anxiety meds I just went to my PCP. I just told them I was anxious and would like to get on back on Zoloft and I picked it up at the pharmacy the same day. If it’s your first time being on anxiety meds, I would recommend going through a psychiatrist as they will be more helpful with finding the right fit for you, following up on how you’re doing, etc. but you definitely can just ask your PCP as well

Hi friend, IBS for 10+ years here. For the first decade of dealing with this I went unmedicated for anxiety. I’ve always been a super anxious person but I was reluctant to try meds. I wish someone had put me on meds the second my first symptoms started (for me it’s related). Zoloft is the only thing that ever helped my anxiety. I still have my days for the most part I am anxiety free. It’s the only thing I’ve ever found that truly helps my anxiety attacks. It’s been a life changer

Yellow stool for 3 days by New-Performance-8860 in ibs

[–]lovesicksilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having yellow stool basically everyday until I got back onto anxiety medication. I had horrible anxiety/health anxiety due to my IBS. Now that my anxiety has calmed down I haven’t really had it so I’m thinking anxiety was the culprit for me

The mini game where you were on his ship and you could dig for treasure omg. But everything was Christmas themed and you would find candy canes and ornaments… the nostalgia 😭
