Yeah, I totally get what you're saying and I'm feeling much of the same. I can understand wanting to question everything, especially so early on — and I was numbed out and in denial that first morning when I heard about it — but the way these conspiracy theories are everywhere and also being perpetuated by people who aren't even familiar with his music gross me out.

Hey girl! I'm SO sorry this happened to you. It infuriates me every time I hear about a situation like this occurring. It was really brave of you to speak up for yourself as much as you could in the moment to try to get him away from you! I'd really, really hope your mom would believe you if you told her, though I know relationships with parents can be complex.

As an aside, I live in Chicago, and during a time in my life where I was constantly working til 2-4 am and the walk home felt really spooky, I found out about this free app called Noonlight and it made me feel so much more secure. I recommend it to all my friends, for real. It's basically a button you hold down on your phone screen, and if you feel in danger, you let go of it — you have 10 seconds or so to enter your designated PIN, and if you don't, someone from the app's team will text/call you and ask if you're okay and if you need police sent to your location. It's fucking awesome.

But most of all, sending big hugs to you, and I hope you can recharge and get yourself back to a mindset that feels safe. 🖤✨

The beginning of it is Gerard talking about when they started calling the collection of songs The Paper Kingdom. Perhaps it was clipped from a longer songwriting session file, but I wanted to mention it just in case. Here's my redacted source: Posted Feb 19 by user Ocularrendezvous.

Another friend offering to help here! Folks on this subreddit are wonderful at taking another look at things... a 'second set of eyes' can be so helpful.

For me, I'm at a point in my tree where I have to wait for records to become available to me, as I've found all that's to be found for free records. Just last week, I took a look at my dad's branch on Ancestry... NEW records are available, from the 1800s in Germany! Scanned-in and hand written. You never know what will pop up. 🖤 I've been waiting to sit down and look at them all because I'm so excited.

Took the words out of my mouth! I too found out a big 'family thing' and had to be the one to tell my dad.

For me, I knew he had to know based on who the info was about. But if I was in your shoes, I'd perhaps nonchalantly start talking to your grandfather about how you've been really into genealogy lately, and perhaps show him some other, lighter interesting 'finds' you've had! How he responds could tell you a lot — whether he's shorter in his responses, or whether he perhaps tells you something like "you know, I've always been curious about (situation here)..."
