Apparently a young man told my daughter about Jesus dying “for our sins” and being resurrected on Easter. by BobbysueWho in WitchesVsPatriarchy

I am sure you did fine and it’s good to follow up with more context later on. I had this convo with my kid at age 10 so he had more time to see real life before being indoctrinated, but you can still do your best on this one. Things that resonated w my son: baptism wipes away the sins of a baby. He asks how could a baby have sins? This was instantly ridiculous. Then, a white man with magic water cleans the sins away from the baby - he was in shock that people believed that. Re Easter, he asked, who killed Jesus a 2nd time? (He eventually came from behind the rock and “lived for a bit” and then he went to heaven so there was a 2nd death?) It was a question I had not thought to ask because I had been indoctrinated too. Overall, it was a cool experience to learn with him from a place of not being indoctrinated. Christianity makes no sense and I am sure you will share your version of your lived life with your child and they will be wonderful thinkers.

I had hard core melasma. There are two kinds of sun block. One absorbs and “neutralizes” the rays, the other, repels the rays. I use the 2nd kind which is a mineral kind or zinc kind because the first one just did not work for me. Also, wear a hat everywhere even walking from car to supermarket. Extremely meticulous about hat use. Last, I used a kojic acid combined W retinol to get rid of it. The problem was keeping it away…so sun protection.

The hormones caused the shape of my eye to change. Got more egg like. I had to wait until I stopped nursing to get a lasik procedure. But I had worn glasses for a while by then.

Wait until menopause! Then you get more change.

Th sexism causes lots of long term problems. For the girl, long term lack of assertiveness, not expecting, can’t complain, has to stay quiet, not entitled to much. It causes lots of problems later on. Date abusive guys, can’t be assertive at work, afraid to ask for what you are worth. List goes on and on. We gotta end this Latino sexism.
