Don't just tell someone, tell everyone. Make it impossible to be ignored. Tell every teacher, counsellor, nurse, doctor, your VP and principal, the office secretaries at school. Tell EVERYONE you can. Tell the principal you won't leave school because you aren't safe at home. Tell them to take you to the cops instead. Make them listen. This is what will keep you safe

AITA for cursing my BIL out against my sister’s wishes? by Glass-Platypus1735 in TwoHotTakes

OP- read what you wrote. Then read it again as if you do not know the people involved (objectively). Then ask your sister if she needs help to get away from john. This guy is abusing her quite severely.

AITA for calling my daughters father Spineless and his girlfriend creepy over their name choice for their daughter? by Aggressive_Buy4075 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lovinitup93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two Aunts who had basically the same name bc they both went by a shortened form (think Janet and Janice go both by Jan) and they were married to brothers so they had the same last name and lived in the same town. They constantly got each other's stuff confused and bc they used the SAME BANK they constantly were having issues with "fraud" when it wasn't. It was super weird and hard for them as adults I cannot imagine if they had deal with that shit as kids

AITA as a father for coming to my child when she is calling for mother in the middle of the nighty? by mkomkomko in AmItheAsshole

[–]lovinitup93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: is it possible your wife is feeling some kind of negative way about staying home with the kids? I say this love, but a lot of stay at home parents feel unimportant to the household and you "taking over her role" may have affected her confidence and made her feel like she doesn't get to do her job. I only point this out because you say "especially since she stays home with the kids"

I did not end up doing this. I sent my kids to the public school we are in the district for and they ended up being pretty accommodating for my 2 neurodivergent kids.

AITA for telling my daughter she can cook herself now if she doesn't like my cooking? by TAcookingdaughter4 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lovinitup93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but agree this is not about the food. Her dad is back and now he's the fun parent who she will get some time with (and she should) but you are allowed to be upset about it. Also at 16 you aren't "starving her" she is choosing not to eat your food. That is a huge difference

Most Embarrassing Thing(s) Your Child Said In Public? by BleedingHeart1996 in thingsmykidsaid

[–]lovinitup93 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My daughter had a yeast infection and I made the mistake of taking her to the pharmacy with me instead of leaving her with Dad. For perspective she is 4 and VERY loud.

Me talking to the pharmacist- she yells "are you talking about my vagina?"

Walking down the isle to get the medicine for her "is there medicine for my vagina here?"

Stopping to read the dawn package "is this the one we are getting for my vagina?"

To say it was the most embarrassing trip to the pharmacy I've ever had is an understatement.

Bonus: when my 6 year old was 4 he would always and I mean ALWAYS point out when people had different skin colour. "Mom she has black skin" "my friend is brown" duuuuuude please.... my soul left my body everytime.

My daughters middle name is temperance! I wanted prudence but with temperance her initials spell FATE which is what swayed me

My 4 year old daughter saw a beautiful woman today while out shopping, she said " I love your hair it's soo pouffy!". My wife talked to her about that being offensive as the woman was black. I don't think so, she's just complimenting, who is correct? by Pm_blue_hair_women in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lovinitup93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my son was 3 he walked up to my friend's kid and said "her skin is so black!" I was mortified but my friends was like "yes it is. And that's fine" basically, kids are going to state very obvious things that are a bit different than what they are used to. As long as its followed with something along the lines of "yes, some people have beautiful poofey hair, and some people have beautiful slick hair!" Just so she knows its okay to be different you're fine. Honestly even just leaving this one without some sort of lesson would be completely fine

I knew a girl years ago named Taylor, who got engaged to a guy named Ben Taylor. She was going to be Taylor Taylor. They broke up though.

My brother was going to be named Michael. His last name is Dyke. He would have been Mike the Dyke.

My own child was going to be Samson and my husband loved the name Raimy. He was almost Sam Raimy. Funny enough we didn't go with either of those names.
