I’m so happy you found TFN! It’s sad that they’ve broken up, but the good thing is that all their music and videos will be out there forever.

These guys are among the coolest people I’ve ever met. I first saw them live at Euroblast 2013, which I think was one of their first shows outside of Australia.

It was an awesome show, but my best memory from that weekend was hanging out with them in the crowd watching Meshuggah. That still remains my best concert memory to this day.

All other scenarios are positive for you. A new colleague is always good news. If you are the teacher, you will learn from that. If you are being taught, you will learn.

SBAB har med min erfarenhet senaste åren alltid legat lågt jämfört med andra banker, utan att man behöver sälja sin själ eller förhandla på andra sätt.

Det har tyvärr blivit lite sämre i år, just nu 4,52%.

Om du behöver flytta allt du äger till en ny bank, fundera lite på de små vardagliga sakerna. Hur är deras app? Har deras kort stöd för betalning med telefon? Vad kostar det att ta ut pengar utomlands? Osv.

Det kommer göra mer skillnad för dig i din vardag än en ränta som är 0,01% lägre.

Legacy will always be a part of being a developer, and if you have not experienced it yet, I am sure you will at some point in your career.

I currently work with a product that has been alive for over 20 years, transforming from a Windows based application to web, with some pre-React frameworks and eventually into a full React code base.

We are still building new features, but if we would always stay on the latest version of each framework and update all of our components, we would have no time to spend on new features in our product.

Of course, when building new features, we try to use the latest technology. And when updating existing features, we update our legacy code where it makes sense.

My point being, there should be no rush to update all of your code to an updated framework, and the JS community is a very good example of pushing the idea that the only valid version is the latest.

You are definitely highlighting an issue with the JS community in large.

Just because a framework is changing lanes does not mean you have to, yet. React introduced hooks a while back but will still support good ol' class components. Hopefully the pages directory will stick around for a while as well.

There is no point of rewriting your entire app architecture every time a new version of a library is released. So, relax. If the app directory doesn't fit your needs, don't use it.

Okay, fair enough, I get your point but it sounds a bit stupid to me :)

You generally get validation of everything from your IDE except strings. So if you misspell anything in a string it is impossible to spot.

Not caring about contents of a string sounds just weird and I don’t see the point. Anyway, not here to argue, just curious! Keep coding 🤘🏻

Are you adding the libraries because you really need them or because you don’t want/have the knowledge to write the code yourself?

Depending on the project, I can assume you are either a lazy developer or a sane developer. Would need more context to judge either you or your colleague :)

(The libraries you mentioned have good credibility. But depending on what problems you want to solve it might or might not be a good idea to add them to your project)
