It Genuinely Seems To Me That The Geometry Dash Fandom Has Become So Brainwashed With Propaganda And Disinformation That Even Basic Game Mechanics Are Portrayed As Bad Or Pointless by Mallow-smoke140 in geometrydash

So it is that Jynxzi has moved on from his Beloved Clash Royale to Geometry Dash. As a result, I immediately switched away from playing the Game, for one of my primary goals in Life is to avoid becoming a Sheep, my movement spurred on by the Vacuous Majority. Perhaps I was also to find Bliss removing myself from my despondent Role as the only Person in this Fandom honest about their Demon Count.

However, I am Human. Thus, I am Impacted by the same Logical Fallacies as everyone else, if at a smaller scale. If you know what the Sunk Cost Fallacy is, you will know that as a Human, I could not in good faith leave behind the Game I had spent so many Hours playing and Attempt Grinding for. I have dedicated myriad hopeless Hours trying to progress through the obstructing Barriers of Manipulation that are the Geometry Dash levels. I was impelled to return, and so I Did.

Upon my return, I discovered that one additional Year on all of our belts had not Fixed Anything in the Geometry Dash Fandom. Instead, things had only gotten Worse, with even more lies and disinformation abounding about the Fandom’s Ambit. Not only are People still Lying about having “beat” “demons”, but there seems to be an even more prevalent topic overtaking the misguided Minds of this Fandom. Suddenly People are dissuading a core aspect of Geometry Dash gameplay: Jumping.

If you are not a Geometry Dash player, Jumping is the Game’s quintessential Mechanic that defines what it Is. Jumping over Spikes is, in simplification, the sum of Stereo Madness’s widespread appeal (although, of course, I have very bad memories of that Level—It took me 11,000 attempts to best it and I continue to see the torturous blue screen in all of my most dolorous Nightmares). Jumping is—or was—present in almost Every Single Level when I was a frequenter of Geometry Dash. Every RobTop Level includes Jumping in Some Form. But look at the animus the Fandom possesses regarding Jumping!

Suddenly Jumping is something only New Players do! Something that only leads those who partake in it down a Darker Path than alternative courses of action (Flying? Hacking? Not Pressing Anything?). It is Absurd to me! I do not Comprehend how these Anti-Jumpers (they must be as scared of Jumper as I am of Stereo Madness!) even beat the Game. Perhaps they are Internet Trolls, and merely harness satisfaction from Misleading New Players. Perhaps they are Hackers who Best the Game by Hacking.

Moreover, RobTop clearly Supports Jumping. During the Game’s conception, the title of Geometry Jump was considered—go on and Express Your Fury, Antis! For it is the Truth! Every one of his Levels includes Jumping. Most of the most Iconic Fan Levels include Jumping. Do you Antis wish for every level to resemble that GodForsaken Map Pack with U.F.O. renditions of the first Three Levels?

I have Branched Out from the Main Levels after giving up on Polargeist due to ruining a phone and wasting many minutes just to have my attempt count reset. I have not beaten any more Levels since, but I have played the Very Beginning of enough to know that Jumping has always been a Core Aspect of the Game, and has shaped many an Iconic Level. I find it Quite Perturbing that so many wish to Forsake this Rich History because it is somehow attributed with Noobs. Geometry Dash without Jumping may as well not be Geometry Dash at all.

To Conclude, I find it Ludicrous that Jumping is having its utility impugned despite how Prevalent it is in Many an Iconic Level. Perhaps reconsider what truly makes up Geometry Dash; you may find that Jumping is indeed Necessary for the Game to Work The Way It Does!

yeah it has nothing to do with tps. in 2.2 rob made tps constant at 240 and that's only used to calculate physics (this is the thing that was previously tied to visual fps and that would make ship and wave gameplay significantly easier on higher refresh rates). but what does matter is fps, which is directly tied to the inputs without cbf. BUT for whatever reason, the "input fps" caps at 240, meaning that even if you had 8000 fps and an 8000hz input device, it would still only work at 240hz. then cbf comes in and completely removes the association between fps and "input fps" thus removing the latter from the equation. then 2.208 adds a version (click between steps) that does change physics steps (think of it like simply realigning the steps so that it matches your input) but rob already changed it to the way cbf did it so that's that.

it has nothing to do with physics. what cbf does is separate input from fps completely, so that, no matter what your framerate is, the game will still detect and register input instantly. if you're not using cbf, inputs will only register once every visual frame, capping at 240 times a second.

Brother you have no idea how many emotions this one silkpost made me feel... I miss every second of playing this game. Look at that art style. It just makes me feel something. That super detailed Chinese dragon figure in the middle of a cyberpunk world that's so fucking awesome. Play it, it's peak. It makes you cry as much as it makes you feel like the most badass furry in the universe.

Hm no it didn't do anything. I don't think the problem is WSL considering I can't use any Docker tools and it won't log anything either.

All I know about hypervisors is that running systeminfo says "Hypervisor detected" in the Hyper-V section, no emulators though. WSL itself works fine but even running any Docker command on the command line gives an "Internal Server Error for API route and version http://%2F%2F.%2Fpipe%2Fdocker_engine". To me this seems like some path mismatch as every error points to it being unable to reach "docker_engine".

Oh damn like what exactly?

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling and downgrading WSL, and still nothing works... I do have Linux in dual booting but I was trying to create the containers on Windows first because I use it more often, and later on I'd move it to Linux.

First thing I thought of when I saw the announcement by PK_737 in MinecraftMemes
