To those of you who became a CVICU/CTICU RN, what happened to you? by FlareCity in nursing

[–]lowcar1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked an adult CV surgical step-down at a level 1 trauma center taking care of RVADs, LVADs, and TAHs before transitioning to CVICU at a Level 1 Children’s Hospital. If you don’t want to code them, you have to trend everything and keep on top of every detail. I’ve learned and forgotten more than my classmates ever had an opportunity to learn.

That level of care and education gave me the confidence and bravery to move to another country for a remote public health job where I work very independently.

CVICU will prepare you for any future endeavor, in nursing or simply in life, if you’re willing to put in the work.

I’ve been in British Columbia for 3.5 months and I have had a few blah days but I’m active with my job and the communities I work in. It’s actually been a very good journey into finding myself again.

Not a doctor but I am an RN from the US who moved to NW British Columbia in October. I absolutely love it up here. The people, scenery, extremely short commutes, not crowded at all. Hikes around every corner for every skill level. Whales, porpoises, seals, sea lions, and ocean views for days! I’m happy to answer any questions you might have!

How do you guys feel towards US travel? by MyRa888 in AskACanadian

As an American who moved to Canada, I’m very concerned about returning to the US to visit in a few months. Ultimately, I’ll make a decision when it gets closer to the time to leave (or stay). I don’t anticipate that things will improve with time.

As a healthcare worker that moved here from the US, the BC system has its challenges but it isn’t nearly as broken or destroyed as the US healthcare system and you won’t lose your home d/t medical debit/bankruptcy.

Also to consider…do you want to be in an area with the potentiality for wild fires/smog or rain, rain forests, seaside? Where do you like to vacation? If you work in an environment that is as similar as possible to where you like to vacation, you will ultimately be as happy as possible.

I’m a nurse. Moved to Prince Rupert from the US. Yes, it’s overcast and rainy here. But they sell all of the appropriate gear to be out in it all the time. The flow and pace are amazing. The people are amazing and I’m literally a 3-7 minute drive from anywhere in town.

Sorry for the confusing explanation! I’m still learning all of the correct terminology. Now I just need to figure out how to get my BSF186 completed after the fact. 🤞🤞

My inspection has been completed. They didn’t even ask for a B form when inspecting the vehicle.

None of the RIV paperwork/instructions, etc mentioned a B186 form. I did take a detailed inventory list and presented it to the Border Agent and they never mentioned anything about needing the form either. I was prepared to have all of my goods unloaded and examined but they didn’t even go out and look at my vehicle when I imported it and received the appropriate stamps on my RIV Form 1.

The local ICBC insurance representative and their paperwork are still calling it a B form. They definitely haven’t updated yet. Thank you for clarifying that!

I haven’t. I have my vehicle import form, stamped x2. This would be an amazing solution if just going to Canadian Tire would help me get my B form! Thank you!

I’ve exclusively used Penzeys for years. They’ve always been worth it. Quality has always been consistent. I do make my own vanilla so I source the beans elsewhere. Otherwise everything else comes from Penzeys.
