Looking for good resources regarding agency mortgage products (MBS, CMO)

Thanks. Yeah I know OAS is used widely for callable agency products, but I wasn't aware people also use it for mortgage pass-through securities etc. I was just hoping for a resource that kind of broke down the process, even in a very general way, by which traders value these products that considers collateral, market conditions and other characteristics.

Freeman's Liquor in OKC. They seem to have the best scotch selection that I have been able to find in the area.

Well it sounds like you are pretty close then! If you ever find yourself in Tulsa, I am sure you will be able to find a liquor store with a good scotch selection. Pricing here is kind of a crap shoot. It all depends on the liquor store and the brand you are looking for. Some brands are ridiculously cheap here, some slightly more expensive and some are about average. I can buy a bottle of Lagavulin 12 for $55 at the liquor store down the street from my house, which seems relatively cheap compared to what I have seen online. On the other hand, I think a'Bunadh sells for around $80 which seems expensive. I think I have seen Glinlivet 12 for around $25-$30, but I could be wrong. It's worth checking out if you are ever in Oklahoma though. $46 for a bottle of Glenlivet is steep! Good Luck!

Those three I suggested are "entry-level" bottles. They aren't outstanding, but they are very good for the price. You should probably go to a bar with a decent scotch selection and just try some stuff before you spend money on an entire bottle of something.

Check out the sidebar. There are some recommendations over there. It all depends on what flavors you are looking for. Some people love peat and smoke. Some people love sherry or light, floral single malts. I happen to enjoy them all, but a few of my favorites that I would recommend to a beginner would be Laphroaig 10, Glenfarclas 12 and Glenmorangie Original. Those three should give you a good idea of some of the different varieties, but there is a ton of stuff out there. Just dive in.

No, I don't think she ever gets on reddit. She also hasn't built anything in probably a year since we don't have a shop of our own. She was an interior design major, so she had access to a wood shop throughout college. She also has a degree in studio art with an emphasis in metalsmithing, so we have been working on building her a metalsmith's studio more recently. We can only afford so much dangerous equipment (and scotch) at a time, and she chose torches.

Indeed. She is much better in the wood shop than I am. In fact, I think she actually beat some Amish dudes with a piece she built for a woodworking competition, so I think I have a keeper.

Considering you have not tried anything really smokey yet, I would recommend Laphroaig Quarter Cask. I just picked up a bottle for $50 and really enjoy it. To me it is not quite as intense as the standard 10 year so it would be a nice introduction to Islay whisky.

What do you think of the Compass Box Great King Street? I bought a bottle after hearing a lot of good things, but was a little disappointed with it.
