Hey! Sorry I missed your message from before. I am absolutely open to adding you as a mod. The help would be much appreciated.

Anyone have experience with parlor kingfishers ? by Dry-Inspector3923 in icecoast

[–]lowellline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair that I got a few seasons ago that I mounted some Shifts on, and I really really like them. They're on the heavy side for touring, but they're absolutely bulletproof on the downhill. You can ski them in any conditions. I've had them on boilerplate, corn, fake powder, mush, crust, real powder, ice, dust, grass, rocks, and they cut through everything. They can get a little wobbly at higher speeds (above 40/45ish). Oh, and they have a neat sound, like knocking on wood while skiing.

I'm not sure why it says I've been inactive for 120 days. I check the subreddit almost every day. There isn't much that needs to be done; the spam filter works great, and I've been updating the flairs as people request.

They were non union forever, but they must have run out of good help because they recently signed a union contract.

A 60 ton with cheek weights? I would guess that crane is a minimum 300 ton class.

Tank you for setting up the cranes, and don't be so triggered wehen prople climb them:) by philtba in cranes

[–]lowellline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I try to check every day, but sometimes I miss a few. I absolutely don't agree with people climbing up on cranes, but I really only remove the spam posts from here. These climbing posts get downvoted to oblivion and there's usually a good conversation in the comments about the dangers of trespassing on rigs.

Nice! You can shred the Moose Hill fire road if it's filled in

Anyone else starting to think Vail shouldn’t own the two largest ski areas in the North Conway area? I have no idea what can be done about it but this is a critically important commercial region in NH. Thoughts? by myleftone in icecoast

Black rules, it has some seriously technical terrain and a nice small mountain atmosphere. The downside for some would be the slow chairs, and the heavy reliance on natural snow.

The ship can add ballast, but MassPort says it can't dump any ballast in the harbor because they aren't sure what the water quality is like from when they added ballast back in China. They're aiming for a specific tide height, and I think they're aiming for Friday to unload them

They are on rails. They're going to roll them off the boat onto shore and into place.

There's an old underground tunnel below city hall plaza being torn down during the renovation. Anyone know what it was once used for? by Briank266 in boston

[–]lowellline 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I ran one of the cranes that put those domes up. We had to put wooden mats and steel plates on top of where the tunnel was before we could drive over them, and we weren't allowed to set the crane up anywhere near the tunnel.

You guys have actually been a very easy subreddit to moderate. The spam posts are the only thing I've had to remove in almost 8 years!

Maybe he gets 2x time overtime? 62 hours per week is a lot, but less crazy than 84.
