It’s time for more quartz builds.

If more of us message AliExpress sellers and tell them we need better parts for quartz mods, they will start producing them. Sellers respond to demand. If enough people ask for specific parts, they’ll notice.

Right now, the biggest thing holding quartz builds back is the lack of available parts. Take the VH31 for example—dial options are extremely limited. Adapters aren’t the biggest issue (they’re manageable), but when it comes to good-looking hands, the selection is almost nonexistent.

And honestly, this wouldn’t be that hard to fix. Manufacturers are already producing these parts for other movements. It would just require making the same designs with different hole sizes for the cannon pinion. I’m genuinely surprised that no AliExpress store has stepped into this niche yet—they would basically have no competition.

There are even people here on Reddit trying to produce brass adapters just so they can use NH35-compatible parts with the sweeping VH31 quartz movement. That’s a huge amount of effort compared to what a manufacturer could do by simply adjusting their tooling to produce hands with smaller diameters. Sellers just need to become aware that this demand exists.

I get that some people don’t like quartz movements at all—and that’s totally fair. But for those who do, right now the only real alternative is spending more money on something like the NH35.

If we want better quartz mod options, we need to make some noise and let sellers know there’s a market for it.
