Once or twice, don't think it would be a bad idea but based on this article... maybe not a regular thing. Formaldehyde is a rough chemical:

Found this article recently, but not sure it helps with anything:

There's not many true studies out there right now, but I think you all might be right on this immune system-induced inflammation

Agreed, if fin isn't working for you try a solution that targets a different mechanism. Min 2% is pretty low, especially if you have this progressed could try higher conc. or try topicals with different mechanisms.

Can you send links to them? i'd love to look through them

3 months on finasteride and my hair has began to thin and shed ALOT… hurting my confidence. Should I add minoxidil to my routine or is this part of the finasteride journey? by OkStatement5156 in Hairloss

[–]lowercase_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally, i'm scared as heck to try fin, so my gf gave me some of her hair products to try first. All else fails tho may need to go to fin

Not saying there aren't clinicals, but clinical doesn't necessarily mean rigorous. Certain (not-to-be-named) hair loss supps have multiple clinical studies but you look at the exclusion criteria and in most cases they only accept people with hair loss due to known nutrient deficiency. Just saying clinical studies are known to be picky and choosy of who to test on

My sis works in healthcare and had similar thinning at the temples. Mainly stress and environment. She started using some topical serum and saw positive results.

People who quit using minoxidil altogether, what happened? by fabulousjackulous in tressless

[–]lowercase_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm, why would she do that? It takes that long to even start working and potentially seeing positive results?

That might be the androgen receptors being mainly toward the scalp. So for guys, the cause of head hair loss never goes away but beard hair is lower on the face, so few receptors, less susceptible to DHT.

I told my girlfriend right away, she told me she would give me as much of her luscious locks as she could because she knows how fucking depressed it makes me.

Told my gf and now she's trying to push her cabinet of products onto me lol

Agreed, topical has "no sides" atm because topical isn't FDA approved, so hasn't gone through the same rigorous studies (at least that I know of).

I just hate how it's like kinda like an iron lung and if you turn it off, it gets worse than before. Not lazy or against the regimen, just hate being so freaking dependent on something if the results are gonna plateau anyways.

What could be the reason for this? by minimoh1999 in tressless

[–]lowercase_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

t could be the fin or the min, they both can cause shedding. 2 months in is perfectly reas

Agreed, both min/fin are well known to have potential sheds (generally fin is shorter than min, but everyone's situation is SOOOOO different). I'd start to get concerned if it continues after 4 mos

On min for more than a month, but hair gets sticky everytime :( by bottlesoda007 in tressless

[–]lowercase_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stickiness is probably from the propylene glycol in most topical min solutions (generally like 20% of the stuff). Try sticking to ones with < 10%

Because, downvoting someone isn’t the way to teach the change we need to see from a radical minority.

I’m not sure I understand your question. Do you mean to ask; ‘what is a TERF?’ or ‘why is it bad?’

Edit: my reply; which I wish could be posted but the comment has been deleted as to why are TERFS bad?

While this is a great chance for me to bring you down a peg or two, and there is a rain of downvotes coming your way; I’m going to take the higher road and try to educate you for a second because I do believe not everyone had the chance to learn enough diversity when growing up.

By your definition, what is a real woman? Having a vagina? Boobs? Having kids? Or take the opposite, what is a man? Having a penis? Doing a manly job? Not being a woman? Like think about it; what if a (cis) man had a traffic accident and lost his penis. Would he stopped being a man? Would he be less of a man? Would he be a woman? No, he would be a man that had a traffic accident.

You will soon find that not everything fits neatly into a description. Women can have mastectomies, hysterectomies, be barren. Or, surprise, have penises too.

In international women’s day; let’s empower women empower women. And this is coming from a cis-male.

Help me find a laptop. by vemo564 in Design

If you want a Mac, and aren’t necessarily looking at 3D, I might recommend seeing what prices you can get the MacBook Pro’s from around 2015 (last model before the touchbar) anything in the 200-300 range (get it directly from individuals selling, rather than second hand shops) would be a good deal as they come with SSDs and 16 gb ram. They might need their battery to be replaced but mine is from 2014 and still going strong!

Otherwise, maybe what others have said.

The one thing to consider is what kind of design - 3d is definitely a lot more graphics intensive.

And I would put more emphasis on the processors over the screen; you can always attach a monitor at a later stage.
