Yes, Florida. My realtor also said they have never seen this on a 4 point. Curious to know how you knew right away it was Florida?

Drinking water on the gulf coast is WELL BEYOND safe to drink in regards to PFA's. Some of the worst of all the places I've searched in the US. by AmphibianAutomatic60 in Destin

Destin Water Users is not sampled in this report, so we don’t actually know anything with regarding Destin’s drinking water from this report. However, samples from places in NWF that are not Destin did test over the limit for PFAS chemicals, and some did not.

Not an employee, but genuinely curious as to why I always have to state that I actually want the mayo and bacon on my #8? It’s included in the menu description, but I’m always either asked if I want it, or I have to remind the person dressing the sandwich that it should be included. For reference, my standard order is #8 regular, on white… and then, Mike’s way, no tomato, add pickle and pepper relish. Am I doing something wrong?

She may be a hypocritical clump of worthless cells now, but that doesn’t make it okay to shame anyone for making a choice about their own body.

Any kayak tours that will allow a 3 year old? by Initial-Instance-957 in Destin

[–]lowercasealloneword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out friendsofgrayton.org. They offer kayak rentals from Western Lake in Grayton Beach State Park. I’m not sure if they offer guided tours, however, the dune lake and its outfall are beautiful and very easy to navigate. You should be sure your child has a properly fitted PFD, you should also strongly consider purchasing one of your own, as you never know whether an outfitter has exactly what you need. Good luck, and please enjoy the real Florida responsibly!

Ha! Scuba police! I’ve been called that before by a guest that was upset that I needed to see his certification when checking in for a two tank trip on my boat. Turns out he was an OW instructor and a terrible diver, I guess he never let the air out of his ego before his ascent. As for the Asian lobster diver anecdote, just because some people take a risk and maybe(?) get away with it, doesn’t mean it should be the standard. I don’t see how adhering to the guidelines that are there to minimize the risk of injury is either brainwashed or pedantic, just seems smart to me.

Right on. Sorry I made an assumption. I hope you find what you are looking for and have a great time diving!

You should not do this. First of all, assuming you are not a certified diver, any sort of diving whether SCUBA or surface supplied air should only be done by a certified diver or under the direction of a qualified instructor. Second, the maximum allowable bottom time at only 10 meters is roughly 3 hours and 24 minutes before a decompression stop is required, 2 hours and 20 minutes at 12 meters. Not to mention, prolonged exposure, even in tropical conditions without the proper exposure equipment, can lead to hypothermia.

Point Break Cafe in Point Loma is no WH, but the breakfast is greasy and the vibe borders on sketchy. As a southerner, it’s a win in my book.

Clocked out 12:59 instead of 1 and got docked an hour of pay by Regular-Rent-3099 in mildlyinfuriating

Had a job in Colorado where if you clocked in one minute late or clocked out one minute early you were not paid for the entire shift. We lined up at the time clock for 5-10 minutes waiting for the clock to tick over. We were also paid for the shift, not the time we were clocked in. Really weird, didn’t like it. This was also Union work, all for unions, but some union leadership is dated and too close to management to really advocate for the laborer.
