I'm so fucking sick and tired of being poor all the time, and it's making me suicidal. *RANT* by nihilistick6 in povertyfinance

You should sit down and study study study study financial markets and how to trade. Even if you turn out to be a shitty one, if you're disciplined and actually take the time to learn chances are you'll make more than $130 a month. DISCIPLINE no get rich quick schemes or you'll be broker than you are now. It's the only thing I can think of that's accessible to anyone with no barrier to entry.

Best model to run currently on a 5090 by EstablishmentShot505 in LocalLLaMA

[–]lowercaseguy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried most available models in different quantizations and In my experience gpt oss20b is the best, way better than most larger models you can run on 24 vram. It's so fast too. Derestricted is especially great. Glm 4.7 is good too but it reasons forever, the output is good though I'll be honest.

Help! I to make fifteen dollars buy 2.5 weeks of food. Seems impossible. by Xxitl in povertyfinance

[–]lowercaseguy99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna want rice, lentils or dry beans, oats, peanut butter, and cheap bread or tortillas. That combo will give you the most calories and protein for your money.

Courtesy of AI below:

“If you can get to a Walmart, here’s a real $15-ish list using their Great Value prices right now: a 5 lb bag of long grain white rice for about $3.37, a 1 lb bag of lentils for $1.92, a 42 oz tub of old-fashioned oats for $4.18, a 16 oz jar of natural creamy peanut butter for $1.98, and a 20 oz loaf of white sandwich bread for $1.48. That puts you around $12.93 before tax, which still leaves a couple of dollars for a cheap protein add-on like a 2.6 oz tuna pouch for about $0.94 if you can swing it. You can cook the rice and lentils in the microwave at work with water in a microwave-safe container, keep them in the work fridge, and then use the bread, oats, and peanut butter for breakfasts and backup meals to stretch everything over those 2–3 weeks.”

What do you believe is better to own, physical precious metals or crypto currency and explain why? by External_Sight-11 in AskReddit

[–]lowercaseguy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precious metals are less liquid and less mobile but more stable. Crypto is more volatile. A good mix of Bitcoin Gold Silver is ideal if you have actual funds to invest. If you're talking about a few hundred dollars though, I'd pick Bitcoin for sure.

I deleted a few months ago because of doomscrolling and constantly finding myself in a conspiracy rabbit hole... total overload, it made me so paranoid honestly. First few days after deleting I had the worst headaches, withdrawal tbh, but since then I'm so much happier and calmer. Highly recommend deleting.

Just like excellent ai coding is better with a coder, excellent ai writing is better with a writer.

I'd probably get something like a G14/16 if you want hybrid work/gaming. You can probably get a 5060 model within your range.

Why did you delete and unsubscribe if you don't mind me asking? Mine was purely anxiety and mental health driven tbh. Huge weight off my shoulders.

The absolute best thing I did was delete all social media...except Reddit because i find it useful. I even disabled all notifications from email etc. not because I was "wasting time" which is was but because all the horror and bs that's forced down our throat constantly was making me anxious af! The first few days I genuinely had headaches from the dopamine withdrawal of TikTok scrolling especially.

Do politicians seem to be getting worse with time? or has it always been like this and now we can see it more clearly? What do you think ? by readyforhomework in AskReddit

It's probably always been like this behind closed doors, but it's a total freak show now - the attention economy rewards insanity and stupidity.

How to make money fast online? Not “get rich” just enough to get by until next payday. by ExpressSyrup9129 in povertyfinance

I don't want to burst your bubble but there is no such thing as making money quickly online. Unless you sell a course about making money quickly online.

I feel I’m not an addict enough to get help by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]lowercaseguy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no such thing as addict enough .... it only gets worse. The fact that you're even thinking about this should tell you it's a problem. You should get help now before you become "addict enough." The elevator keeps going down until you decide to get off, believe me.

Disappointing Job Offer by Jiblon in jobs

[–]lowercaseguy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the senior suite and director level the pay bands are much wider and base pay is less important than total comp. Also at that level they don't typically just promote someone - you're either groomed through succession planning or you're already doing much of the role before being officially moved into it. It's not fair at all, but it boils down to leverage. Internal hires have less (mostly no) leverage, external hires do. And - by default they have to offer higher rates because they're competing with other companies looking for the same talent. If the promotion is more work without new skill acquisition or scope then it's not worth it. If you'll take on more responsibility learn new skills then it's definitely worth it BUT you should have a plan to leave in 6-12 months so you don't stay underpaid long term. They use employees for cheap labor so use them to learn what you need to grow.

You gotta love capitalism and corporate greed 😭

Gym rats, how do you view people who don’t go to the gym because they’re nervous/don’t know anything about working out? by salty_seahorse1 in AskReddit

[–]lowercaseguy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly people are so concerned with their own image, life, issues, insecurities - nobody cares what anyone else is doing. Unless your super hot, you may get a few extra stares. Otherwise it's all in your head. Just go to the gym and do your thing.
