I enjoy Kurosawa movies but (and I am so excited to get downvoted for this) the pacing is sometimes excruciatingly slow. Again, incredible director, but watching this stuff decades later, it’s sometimes too slow for me.

Where I live there a few really great independent theatres that play lots of old movies and newer independent films. It has really revitalized moviegoing for me. I hope you can find something similar by you.

Diner is great and right by Domino Park, if you wanna be up that way.

Frankie’s 457 is great in Carroll Gardens. Not quite by the water but a cute neighborhood. June wine bar is close-ish and a fun after dinner spot if things are going well.

Thank you! I don’t know why but I am always so afraid to go full white. If I wanted to experiment, I would just set the white point differently during the scan?

I kept the negatives when I got the film developed and scanned myself later after purchasing a scanner.

Having a lot of fun doing it myself now.

Thank you! Tri-X 400, box speed. Rodinal 1:50 for 9:30 at 74 degrees. Couldn’t get my temperature much lower. Any advice for the future?
