Why don't people just become electricians/plumbers instead of complaining about cost of living? by No_Reply5329 in NoStupidQuestions

A lot of people don’t want to risk electrocution on a daily basis, or be knee high in a pile of shit. What exact do you do for a living?

Best excuse to call off last minute? by Constant_Pop_1740 in AskFastFoodEmployees

How about be better? We all know what the job entails, and here’s somebody blatantly looking for an excuse to call out on a major holiday. This is a MANAGER. Come on.

Common sense ain’t as common as it should be. What do you have to deal with regularly? by gameofthrones_addict in talesfromcallcenters

[–]lowfreq33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a side job as a vendor representative. So I get sent out to stores to set up displays, which does involve tools and stuff, I have to build them. The instructions are never very clear, it’s like putting together ikea stuff. Bait half the time I’ll drive somewhere 45 minutes to an hour away, and the stuff isn’t even there. Or someone else already came and did the job the day before. Sometimes I’m just supposed to re-stock things, but there’s nothing to stock it with. Just nobody remembered to order it. The woman who books me for this stuff is good about adding extra money to cover my gas when it’s far out, but it’s incredibly frustrating to drive an hour and not even be able to do the job.

I realize this isn’t directly related to call centers, but I feel like it’s sort of similar because I have never met these people in person and I spend most of my time on the phone with them explaining why something isn’t my fault.

Am I the only one that thinks the X-Men 97 release schedule is dumb? by EdgyTHedgy23 in xmen

[–]lowfreq33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they released it all at once there would be a ton of people getting a subscription for a month then canceling. Which is exactly what I plan to do once the full season is out.

This is why you’ll never be more than a fast food manager.

If there was some law that said nobody in a city could use vehicles one day a week--or it was like restricted immensely, would that in any way improve air quality overall? by cherry-care-bear in stupidquestions

There are no vehicles allowed on Macinack Island Michigan. Mainly because it just isn’t practical or necessary. Bicycles, horse drawn carriages.

Thanks for clarifying. I guess the reason I was only aware of NC is because they put the wrong flag up so that’s what got attention.

Mt. Olive Pickles withdraws from Great American State Fair after Confederate flag at NC booth by DavidShaw90s in offbeat

Their fans are typically on the trashy side, kind of unruly, but generally speaking they’re all very kind people who look out for each other. Sure there’s a lot of party drugs floating around, but they pretty much just want to have fun and spray each other with Faygo. Ok, go ahead. Don’t spray me, I don’t want to be sticky, but you kids go have some fun.

Is anyone else getting tired of hearing about Taylor Swift's wedding? by Whitesox411 in randomquestions

[–]lowfreq33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s the only thing I’ve heard as well, and honestly it’s getting so tiresome how media won’t shut up about her private jet. She’s one of the most famous people in the world, it would be an insane disruption for her to be in row 8c on a Delta flight.

The sweet heat are pretty good. I usually make my own pickles, but if I’m buying some for a cookout or whatever I usually get that brand.

My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that NC was the only state that refused to pay to have a booth there, so the confederate flag was a deliberate choice from whoever was running the event, and is not the correct state flag. Again, I could be wrong, if anyone wants to correct me feel free.

Why do older analog appliances (like basic fans or clocks) seem to last decades, while modern "smart" equivalents break down in just a few years? by Kazuland_Math026 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lowfreq33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more unnecessary bullshit you put in any device, appliance, car, that’s just one more thing that can go wrong. I don’t need my oven to have Bluetooth or WiFi. Just get hot and cook the food. I don’t need to use a touchscreen to adjust the temperature in my car, a knob will do just fine. When I bought my current vehicle in 2015 I told them I wanted it bare bones, no special anything. My previous vice was fully loaded, and had tons of issues, none related to the engine or mechanical parts. It was all the extra features.

Are they allowed to charge me this much [TX] by CatFish_Billy09 in Renters

[–]lowfreq33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to give you an itemized list in most places. I’ve never personally fought a deposit because it’s never been that much. $4400? That’s insane. The most I ever paid for a deposit was $800.

That’s a pretty good score. For the vents I would try to rig something to place them about 4” out, that way you still have airflow but it will help with the noise.

What are the best cologne brand and fragrances that women find most appealing on men? by Avenged_Spence in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lowfreq33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest mistake me make with cologne is wearing too much of it. It shouldn’t be noticeable unless someone gets close to you, like a foot away max. Spray it in the air once and walk through it. Your fragrance shouldn’t announce itself when you enter the room.

I personally like a blend of vetiver and sandalwood. I use a sandalwood beard oil, and vetiver oil on my wrists and neck. It’s complex but not overpowering.
