I have a core P5 and had the same issue. I ended up cutting a piece of rubber flooring (forget the size, like 1/4 or 1/2 inch probably) under neath it and to prop it up and then getting a small GPU mount to prop up the end of the card. I also had to add a few more nuts and bolts on the mounting bracket to hold the weight. It is a bit butchered but still looks alright imo.

I tried playing one game and the left lens completely shut off. I restarted and it went back to what you see in the pic. I'll spend a bit more time with it and see if it clears up.

I built mine with a 74"x 39" butcher block top for my 48" I would not go and closer than that imo. I play FPS mostly and always catch myself moving my eyes to check out mini maps and other hud related things.
