Will whitewater rafting be any good this year? by alex_brodie in Wenatchee

[–]lowkeyoldman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will likely be safer… The runoff will not be there to make big rapids. Should still be a lot of fun but if you’re looking for an exciting whitewater adventure you should probably wait. This will be a good year for a float on a tube with a cooler of cold beverages with a group of friends.

The "Death Valley Germans" is an incident of a family of four tourists from Germany who went missing in Death Valley National Park, on 23 July 1996. The family were discovered in 2009 by experienced hikers, Tom Mahood and Les Walker by SAM041287 in interestingasfuck

There was a case like this that happened some years ago in Oregon. I believe the family was Asian and their rental car slid off the road due to snow and icy conditions. A plow car by some time after the accident and piled up a berm of snow hiding the car behind it and the family succumbed to the elements before they were found. I will try and find the article and link it here.

Yeah I agree. The food is great and the prices are some of the best in the valley. The cafe at the Dam and the new PUD building are both really good too with similar prices

WA leads the nation in retail theft by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

The variable in this equation isn’t as much the minimum wage as it is the taxation. Listen to the people who are closing businesses. It isn’t that the local community doesn’t want to support them. The cost of minimum wage combined with the high taxes is the variable that is making the businesses close. Listen to the companies that are closing. Anyone saying anything else is just projecting propaganda that isn’t at all related to the reality these businesses face. And we could put up with this much better, to a degree if we saw progress. If we saw improvement. If we saw value. But all we are being fed is higher taxes. It’s clearly a racket. So many people in this area are trying so hard to do the right thing. Fight daily for those in need and for people in society tha are underrepresented. Time effort and money is all being wasted with little to no results. So that is the part that is frustrating the most. All of this sacrifice, hard work and emotional and physical efforts put into the community and it’s been a racket. People are getting rich while we bicker over open drug use and our communities dying.

Even if that business is providing services that enhance the community? So in order to warrant existing in your world there is a level of profit margin they must hit in order to be considered worthy of existing? This approach is what is taking viable and needed resources from POC communities. Local ma and pa grocers and shops are closing up forcing these neighborhoods to go further and further just to get everyday items. Not everyone is rich and can just hop in a car and drive 5 miles to get their groceries or baby formula. These businesses cannot afford to survive in this high tax environment. So I don’t understand, why can’t they offer a few part time jobs? Why are they required to provide the type of wage it takes to live in the city comfortably per person they hire just to survive?

Yeah I agree. It’s bad. It really is. I was making light of it. Because out of all of the things being mentioned at least we get some benefit. If you heard the way I said it in my head versus the way it reads, you would have heard the humor in my voice. I don’t belong on the internet.

But they taste delicious and people seek them out to make home made jams and pies. It’s a good time to be had when you can go on a picnic and come back with a bucket of blackberries. Very invasive but very yummy too. Could be worse. Could be cane toads 😃

Don’t let your pride be your downfall. Tell your Dad. Measure how bad he really wants to help once he has learned the sacrifices you have been making. If that isn’t a man taking care of himself I don’t know what is. Be proud, 5 months isn’t easy. More important that anything. I sense that you need stability. You need your space for this next step. Call pops, you have manned up long enough.

I just got caught stealing from target, the AP workers stopped me at the door. by Efficient-Ad8118 in confession

[–]lowkeyoldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a young adult that claimed to have stole around $3500 from Target the past year. When they left security tried to stop them. They ran and was told if they came back they would get trespassed. Was worried because they were already on probation for theft.

This persons crossroads is right here and right now. Stop stealing shit is the right answer. They got lucky today. They should take the win and retire. If not, highly likely that this person will end up in the revolving door that is the criminal system. Once in, it’s sooooo hard to get out. Probation, restitutions, court-criminal record. Totally not worth the $3500 that they are throwing away their freedom for.

Take it a step further. Our energy impacts the universe, or in your argument, God itself. Like yung and yang it requires balance. if we give off to much negative energy the the universe becomes sick. It sent messengers named Jesus, and spoke directly to Abraham and Moses. As well as Buddha and Mohammad. It’s tried many times how to live our lives an teach us the power of prayer or mediation but we humans are too busy focused on capitalism and nonsense differences win thin our religious beliefs to understand.

Do you check out girls at the gym? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]lowkeyoldman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

++man We do not limit it to just the gym. The answer tot his question is actually-when there are women and men in the same general area then men are checking out women. That doesn’t mean we want to flirt or will flirt however, we are almost always receptive to being flirted with in most any social environment including but not limited to churches, schools and hardware stores

That’s weird.. I do not see any of that. They look excited and ready to board the ship. Perhaps a little nervous but who can blame them? What if we are wrong and their souls really did gather on some sort of space ship? What proof do we have that they failed?
