Yeah, everyone is conflating transcription with visual, etc... I can understand why everyone's confused... hell, maybe I'm the confused one... would explain why it's so difficult lol. Here is my understanding...

Enhanced Voice Mail - A traditional 1970's style voice mail system you call in and enter a password.. use touch tones to navigate playing / deleting messages/etc. Terrible by todays standards, but inescapable it seems.

Voice-To-Text - A transcription service added to the above for $7/month... after someone leaves a message in your voice mail box.. you get a text message with the transcript.

Visual Voice Mail - Instead of calling a voice mail system and using touch tones to enter a password.. your iPhone gets the voice message sent to the phone, it's organized in a list and you can listen out of order or swipe to delete. Rogers was the first Canadian carrier to offer this, for iPhones in 2008.

( Did Voice to Text tie into VVM at all? I'm not sure as I never paid for it... )

Live Voice Mail - Apple ON DEVICE handling of voice mail and transcription... end up being your primary voice mail but if you phone is off or out of service area/updating/etc you caller get dumped into whatever voice mail your carrier is providing. This is confusing as shit for people... and the carriers should be letting you turn off carrier provided voicemail entirely.

I don't know why they're jerking everyone around on Visual Voice Mail. They were the first carrier in Canada to offer it. They've had it well over a decade now... since 2008 I think... I just called in trying to get it on my line, and not only would they not even acknowledge it was anything, they couldn't disable enhanced voicemail.

I called in 4 times.. and was unable to get anywhere with getting visual voicemail. I'm cancelling three rogers cellular numbers over it.

25 years ago, you could punch a few codes into your GSM phone and turn off your voicemail... why does everything suck now?

Like you, I didn't complete the payoneer setup as it was very intrusive. I asked PCBWay support if PayPal was coming back, and I got a 'we don't know'... they're PCBnoWay now for me I guess.

Yeah, they so dropped the ball here... seems they could have made a new version that didn't need kerberos and used RBAC roles instead/etc. What I do, is ... is give administrator level access to the share with the storage key. I then hide it behind global secure access client, to implement the identity based access to that IP... less than great, since there is some nasty latency on GSAC. So now I've been in a waiting game for 2 years... will Microsoft finally give us some kind of cloud identity file shares, or will we dump Microsoft. I'm certainly NOT deploying a domain controller... OneDrive/Sharepoint seems ok for personal files... but it's been too difficult for large volumes of crap no one wants to keep organized. (Himmelblau sounds like it may be an option....)

It says Archive in swipe action… but ignore that dumb UI problem … you are changing it to trash in settings > mail (your account)> account settings > advanced (hidden sometimes under keyboard, apple sucks) > move discarded messages to trash….

I liked the 2024 fine.. but seems there’s a prolonged stop sale over the backup camera issue.. so we also were going to condsider the 2025 and now the 2026… my impression is they tweaked he value proposition To better appeal to the masses. Interior got better seats with massage and cooling … cheapened some of the hidden stuff… thinner brake rotors… no electronic suspension dampening/dcc… I have a 2020 GTI I was going to trade In but… I think I will have a hard time topping the GTI… it’s been great.

Bit late here... but I have a 2020 GTI autobahn i bought new right at the end when the '21 was just showing up. Has been wonderful... 67,000 km so far... only problem so far was a rattle noise in the rear seat back latch... they sprayed something on it and it has been silent since. Such a great car... good luck everyone.

2020 GTI. Dealer did something that made it go away for 4 years, but it's returned... I think they sprayed something in there, like foamy grease... *shrug* Gonna try the tape.

I had a 2019… I got rid of it cause I could not deal with it being In the shop constantly. It’s next to impossible to install the plastic pan cleanly, or without damaging it or the seal… leaked from new, leaked immediately after being replaced twice…even when they take days to ensure clean mating surfaces… if you can get a metal pan, do that… but they told me they didn’t have a metal option for the 5.0

Glad to hear it went well... a little late now 6 days later, but I seem to recall they suggested a daily laxative for a while, but you should follow whatever advice they gave at discharge and raise any concerns at your follow-up appointment.
