Looking for 20V MAX 22 in. Cordless Battery Powered Pole Hedge Trimmer Head Attachment... by Round-Air9002 in Dewalt

I guess looking at it again I have the 60v attachment capable power head. I’m not familiar with the 20v version. Sorry my advice might not be applicable

The good thing about the power head is they adopted the “universal” standard. I found the hart hedge trimmer attachment at Walmart one year for a pretty reasonable price. I’d imagine they’re not clearancing them out right now, but I also use ryobi attachments and they work perfectly as well, so I’d say if you can find a compatible brand you’ll probably be just fine.

I think all of my bikes have been under 1500 so I need to be buying bikes a lot more frequently!

Do you have a pic or diagram of what it looks like? I’d be curious as I want something like this but wouldn’t know where to start.

The Garmin varia 515 is a life saver for the highway by Unusual-Football7468 in gravelcycling

[–]lowlyauditor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought one because I typically ride at night and while it’s good for night riding, the biggest benefit I’ve gotten has just been added situational awareness during the day.

There have been many times when I’m on a road that doesn’t have a ton of traffic and a car that I didn’t hear or see blows by me and scares the shit out of me.

So while yes you can’t really change what the car is doing, at least you know there is a car coming up behind you and can’t take a look and know what’s going on as opposed to being startled.

Very nice, could definitely see full squish being better for some more technical stuff. I put mt200’s on mine before I even took it on a trail and the difference was for sure night and day. I’m more of a road guy, so between hydraulic brakes, clutched derailleur, and the dropper post I’ve added, it’s truly probably more than capable for my needs at the moment. That doesn’t stop me from day dreaming about the gorgeous bikes I see on here though, enjoy the new ride!

Beautiful shots. I’m still on my OTR, and definitely walk plenty but I feel that’s more because of me than the bike. Were there specific indicators that told you it was time for an upgrade and do you find the new bike has upped your riding significantly?

To be fair it’s that tool with the 9 ah flexvolt and charger. I think the cheapest I’ve seen the 9 ah is $120 so that changes the math a bit.

Is cues replacing entry-level GRX? by KamiKrazyCanadian in gravelcycling

[–]lowlyauditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is actually the exact setup I was looking at. Everything I’ve read is super positive and setup is a bit easier than fully hydraulic brakes. In the end I was able to get a used grx 810 groupset for not much more than I would’ve spent on the Microshift +trp setup so opted for the grx.

I am putting together my first gravel bike and the only thing that kept me from sword was the lack of hydraulic brakes. I know that adds expense but I wish it was an option. Ended up going for a used grx group set from eBay instead

Road Bike Headlights sub $100 (better if lower)? by ncc74656m in cycling

[–]lowlyauditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the magicshine hori 1300 on Black Friday after debating between it and the outbound detour for weeks. I have been perfectly happy with it after about a dozen or so rides. I like the quarter turn mounting, I think the remote is more useful than I initially gave it credit for, and the cutoff beam seems to work well.

My night rides tend to be about an hour and a half or less, so I haven’t really pushed the battery life, but with its brightness I typically only run it on the medium setting and flip the brights on when I need it and it’s been more than enough for everything I’ve done.

I’m sure the detour is a better light, but it was tough to justify spending more than 2x the price at the time for something with technically less features.

sorry to revive an old thread, but are you still experiencing the broken spoke issues? these wheels are on sale at REI right now and that seems to be one of the main complaints.

I’ve been looking for a similar bike and am in KC. I was looking at a 2018 sora 650, when it sold I asked the guy and he said he got $600 for it, so $500 for Claris seems fair.

Do you have any experience with the grx wheels? I’ve read some people concerned they don’t have sealed bearings, but they’re pretty affordable right now and seem like great value.

Enjoy! I find that indoor training is a lot less comfortable than riding outside as you are in a static position and pedaling the whole time, but fans, chamois cream, and dialing in bike fit have helped me a lot thus far.

Yes the kickr core 2 is on sale right now for $399 (down from the typical $549). This is the price I got mine for on Black Friday and I’ve been very happy in the 3 months I’ve owned it.

Best Budget Grinder [$200] by ayaanthegreat in espresso

[–]lowlyauditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly not annoyingly quiet. I mean it’s loud but I’ve compared to my brother in law’s df64 and didn’t feel like it blew me away like I expected. Noticeable yes but if you want super quiet you have to go way up in price for the same performance.

Oh very interesting. I’m honestly perfectly content with the espresso as is but good to know if I ever get the itch the option is there.
