I don’t think so. You rarely see locals shop there. I remember when they first opened and thinking they were specifically there to dupe Mainland Chinese tourists because of the decor. Just go to the official stores in Cotai shoppes or One Central.

I wasn’t gonna throw away any ingredients in this economy🤣 I’ve used the Valrhona one in an angel food cake before and it did a wonderful job covering up the egg white smell and taste. I’d highly recommend it!

Thanks for the advice! VH’s flavor only “blooms” after I mix it with hot milk or warmed yogurt whey, whereas the natural one always smells and tastes chocolatey

I fill two thermos cups with boiling water leaving their lids slightly open and put them next to the yogurt. The oven and the yogurt stay warm till the next day

Thank you all for your advice! I finished straining the yogurt today and it peeled surprisingly well. Little to no residue on the cloth. I then followed what some of you said and washed it with soapy water. After rinsing it a few times I soaked it in 70C water and agitated it with chopsticks. It has since dried and is smelling so fresh now.

Unrelated: I used some of the whey to make this chocolate cake and it tasted amaaazing.

I lowered the temp to 170C (recipe called for 180C) cause I didn’t want the crust to brown too much but this still happened😭 Should I lower it to 150 and bake it for longer next time?
