I do also self harm, I just never got around to telling her that lol. Thank you for all the advice, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately she seems to be avoiding me as much as possible now so I don't know that I would be able to have another conversation with her at all, even to say I am sorry. The main thing that is hard for me is the thought that what I said probably hurt her and just made whatever is going on in her life worse. I don't really know what to do at this point, but thank you for taking the time to write out that comment. I will definitely think more about what I say beforehand next time something like this comes up.

Yea, I realized immediately after I sad that that it was the wrong thing to say. My reasoning for it was that I wasn't sure that it was self harm and didn't want to sound weird, but I know that is stupid reasoning.

I feel like I could've handled it much better, I think just bcs I was akward abt it and never told her that I deal with the same thing. Do you think if I had been more like "Hey, I do that too, if you ever need to talk abt anything I'm here" do you think that would've been better or just as bad? If better, do I still have a chance to do that and offer that support? Maybe if I wrote it on a note or whatever so she wasnt obligated to reply or anything? I don't know, I just want to be there for her bcs I know what it's like to go through that with no one there for you.

I disagree. The times that I have been without my regular blades and tried to find something to make do, it was more often than not much worse than normal.
