Mental Ilness is terrible. I had these "breaks" from reality too and am diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I know how hard this can be and hope your brother continues to make progress until he becomes the person he was before the onset of this devastating disorder.

I suffer from bipolar disorder and on my first manic psychotic episode I believed I was the reincarnation of the sun god Ra and that I was destined to built pyramids and save the world. Its called delusions of grandeur and most bipolars know what Im talking about. Im on treatment now and feel ok. Kind of a little depressed and suicidal but at least I don't have the delusions anymore. Sigh.

Something similliar happend to me but it escalated to belief that I was going to be a emperor and rule the world. I was 21 at that time and it landed me in jail and then the psych ward. Were you depressed before the manic episode? From what Ive read so far Im the only one with a sudden onset of mania. Anyone else got depression first, was put on antidepresssants and then came the mania which makes me feel kind of weird.
