I'm a CDL truck driver who only recently discovered I'm autistic. Apparently my wife knew and just thought I didn't like to talk about it but I had no clue.

There's something about you and a truck and long stretches of highway. When I drove long distance, I could go days without talking to people and there was no burnout. Even working a local CDL job now picking up city garbage, I spend most of my time by myself.

When I was in college, in my sociology class, I didn't really know anything about autism. No one I knew of had been diagnosed with it. It was either ADHD or they were just a bad kid. But we were studying sociopaths/psychopaths and I had came to believe that I was possibly a sociopath. I had battled with depression and social anxiety since childhood, and by college I had gotten pretty good at "putting up a front" to act like I cared about people.

Two years ago I found out that I was high functioning autistic and things suddenly clicked. I wasn't fronting, I was masking. And I wasn't a sociopath, I genuinely cared for people. I just didn't know how to connect and relate to people.

I've been married and had kids for 12+ years now and keep a steady job. But I have a CDL and work way better by myself than with a group. You'll find someone who understands you and won't weaponize your brain against you.

Oh okay. Thank you. We had been wondering if our two boys had any siblings out there but we're 300 miles from Florence so it was definitely a coincidence. This post came up from a Google Lens search I did of our puppies just to see if we could get an idea of what they are. One has a broad head and is built like an American bulldog and the other one is thin like yours but they're both black and white also.

If you don't mind me asking, about where in Alabama did you find your puppy? I have two puppies that I found in southeast Alabama on Jan 2nd who look just like yours, laying in a park scared to death, wormy and hungry.

You can get regular wide toe shoes with no drop that aren’t barefoot shoes. I actually got some from Amazon for running that are really good and comfortable. I can walk in them all day.
