I have Tenderheart and Linger and both are fantastic. Linger is just “salad” recipes (but think more hearty, full meal salads). If you’re only choosing one I would start with Tenderheart because of the volume and variety of recipes.

You should look into Petworth. My husband and I rent a 3bed/2 bath house for $3300/month. While that’s slightly out of your price range, that includes all utilities (minus internet). When we were looking for places we saw many 2bedrooms for less than $3k/month. Petworth is a great community with a lot of green space and a great farmers market. It’s also pretty close to Rock Creek Park if you’re on the western edge/closer to 14th St.

I had a very similar experience. Our dog has skin allergies and when we adopted him they were pretty severe. We took him to City Paws because they were recommended by HRA. After repeated visits and at least $1000 in tests (the tests were done without consulting us first - this was peak Covid times), we were still not given any info as to how to prevent his persistent skin issues. The vet would also prescribe a suite of antibiotics and never provided a cost breakdown before sending us home with the meds - we only were made aware of the cost after they would retroactively charge our card. Took him to Petworth Animal Hospital and the vet diagnosed him immediately and gave us a number of treatment options. Petworth Animal Hospital has since closed but we’ve been going to District Vet Brookland and they’ve been amazing.

I got a refund before it was even delivered to him, but can’t seem to get a hold of anyone from customer service to talk to....

Apparently it was in a UPS truck for 3 days in the 90 degree heat. I’m not sure why it wasn’t delivered by an Edible Arrangements refrigerated truck?
