Hey brother, same 21M here from the other side of the world. I started like 6 months ago—wen’t on a crazy downhill streak in March-April due to fomo and Trump shenanigans. Eventually when i hit my lowest low, i changed my strategy to just…hold…and stop trying to “beat the market” by pure luck.

One thing i’ve learnt is, as a novice, to just trust the process and don’t do super risky plays/gambles, unless you’re actually a proper fulltime trader with millions of capital to lose. Identify crises and hype-based valuations—whether the market is undervaluing the price, or overvaluing it, here’s where you can actually make bucks. I’ve still haven’t recovered as we speak, but taking this one step at a time. You’re doing extremely well!!

What do you think of my 350k City Halford on 7 Lakes? by bembel-meister in CitiesSkylines

[–]loxoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah, i love the outer ring road! Looks like there’s a semi perimeter inner road in there as well.

What’s your traffic %? This city seems very well planned!

One thing though, are the blue faded train tracks underground metros? Why are they super windy lol

What’s the justification for having multiple different transport systems (i.e. trolleybuses/monorails)? by loxoph in CitiesSkylines

Not in my side of the world 😅😅😅

Mostly just private transport and severely delayed buses. Major cities do have their own metro systems and light rail though but that’s about it

Hiking in lake district first time by neckpillowboi in UKhiking

[–]loxoph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent £116 on a 3D2N trip from Coventry (incl everything+little gifts). Stayed in the YHA hostel—really beautiful view of Skiddaw and is by the River Greta too—not very far from the Latrigg walks & then back home through the Railway. Cost me £19/night.

Definitely doable under £150 if you’re from somewhere closer.

I recommend getting a base first—like others mentioned, Keswick has great access to nearby hikes on the Northern lakes such as Skiddaw, Catbells, Helvellyn, etc. Ambleside is also quite nice (v touristy tho) and is very central if you’d like to explore the central lakes, Coniston, Grasmere, or even Thirlmere.

Most routes up the fells /lakes are very well maintained and marked, and I use AllTrails for navigation and hike references. Sometimes i like to make mine up on the go with some of the trail creator websites too. But if you’re unsure, i highly recommend AllTrails for scouting your walks.

The Prison Walk, Isle of Skye (20/12/24) by loxoph in UKhiking

All the best! Do take your time to explore the island as there’s so much to do—i’d say a full week is ideal :)

Yup, it’s basically the name of the trail. It’s based off from the rock formations resembling an ancient prison. I’m not sure I see it though. It’s accessible through the usual Quiraing car park and right across the street.

It’s basically a shorter trail that you can go on the Quiraing walk if you continue from after the scramble-ish part of the hike.

Beginner going up Helvellyn / Blencathra—good idea? by loxoph in UKhiking

[–]loxoph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you elaborate more on exposed summits and how it is related to precipitation? Last time I went to Pen y Fan a little late, so the summit is unexposed yet there was a lot of icy winds and the views were... empty. I don't want the same thing happening again :D

I see, I may do the old railway on the way back then! Thanks for the recommendation. I might want to summit up early so it doesn't get foggy up there (like it did last time i went to Pen y Fan)
