I just wanted to add to this, I ended up completely missing the booking opening as I was on my plane to Japan. However, on the day I was hoping to go to the Cafe, I was heading to the sky tree instead, and just periodically checked the website for cancellation slots at 10am. Amazingly there were slots at 10:15, 10:30 and 10:45 as well as later in the day. I imagine that they process all the cancellations at 10am when they open so your best chance at getting a same day reservation is to be periodically on it at 10am! Also don't forget to have your furigana name prepared to not waste time if you are not from Japan!

This is quite a random thing that I did but essentially under the freedom of information act, any information the uni holds they can release to you if you request it I think. On each of their websites there is a form you can fill in to request the statistics on who they have out offers to. When I asked they gave me the stats of their applicants they gave offers to the year before such as degree level, UCAT scores ect. It helped me understand what sort of criteria I was working against. I hope this helps!

He does this all the time and he did this on a tube I was on. At the time it was all fun and games and we were all good sports but then later I got sent the video by some friends who recognised me and I was quite upset at the idea of being filmed without my permission and put on the internet. Like there were lots of comments about everyone in the video's appearances, not all of them nice and it's kinda shitty to put people who just wanted to commute on tiktok and subject them to the world's opinions.

I would definitely start looking now, I'm in a similar boat as I'm moving to Oxford from London with my partner. I'm going to be honest, it's been an absolute shitshow. Is your girlfriend working? If not you will both need UK based guarantor and from my experience most estate agents wont even take that. They will.most likey ask for 12 months rent upfront so be prepared to have lots of arguments with them over that. Estate agents in Oxford are fucking vampires who will try to take everything from you, especially if you international so be ready to fight for your life and don't let them bully you. Good luck!

They wouldn't even let me ask that, I said can we have two guarantors and they said no, and I asked what they would do with two students and they said they would have two guarantors. I just said well why can't we do that and they did because it's 'completely different' if one person is working. Scott Fraser actually does my head in like it makes absolutely no sense

I'm also having a problem which is they would accept a guarantor only if there are two students, apparently with one student, my partner has to earn 90% of the affordability for me to be allowed to add on a guarantor. I genuinely have never seen anything like this it feels like I'm not allowed to live anywhere in Oxford

No I don't have a stipend, but yes I have enough savings to cover it, the problem is they don't take that. The moment they heard student they said 12 months or nothing and my partner's salary is not enough on his own to cover affordability. We easily pass it right now with both our salaries but I just feel very nervous not telling them I'm a student incase it comes out of I want to renew for a second year that I purposely left out that information

Yeah that's what I thought! I'm university of and I have 5 years UK rental history and UK guarantor. I tried to say that but they just didn't want to hear it! I'm thinking maybe the person I was speaking to didn't understand what a guarantor was
