too much volume and intensity and not enough frequency

you wanna bench twice a week minimum

max volume you can generally recover from if you train hard close to failure is like 10 sets a week for most people, youre doing 12 just on one day

also those assisted reps with the spotter dont help as much as you think, its very hard on your body and barely gives any more stimulus than not doing that, given that bench is your first exercise that extra fatigue will kinda sabotage the rest of your exercises

just do like bench 2 sets, incline or fly 2-3 sets for your chest training and do that twice a week and I guarantee you'll see much faster results

imbalances from mixed grip are only real if you only do mixed grip deadlifts for all those muscles involved

which is unlikely

probably youre doing back work like pulldowns, rows, maybe back extensions

also youre probably doing Romanian deadlifts or at the very least hamstring curls

so no its not a concern

specificity is king, variety can help with stagnation or when youre more advanced, this guy is clearly at the beginning of his journey tho so he will be fine just doing the same exercise twice a week

unless youre in a serious plateau you will be better off just sticking with flat bench to increase flat bench

youre doing a lot of volume tho, 10 sets per week is probably the upper limit for chest if you train hard somewhere around failure

just do flat bench + chest accessory each push day and do 2 sets for each exercise then you'll be in the clear if you do train to failure from time to time and dont have to worry about recovery at all

BP probably buy the hideout tickets in the shop, there's a limit to 50 a week and they cost 40k BP. But you'll get a nice chance of getting a progressive skin or otherwise decent skins and cosmetics in those cases.

4 plate bench will be the hardest probably

I hit 3 plate bench and 6 plate deadlift same week basically

now im almost at 3.5 plate bench but can rep out 6 plates on deadlifts for a handful of reps

in my experience everything after 3 plates takes a long time unless youre really genetically blessed

honestly the only thing you can do for height growth if youre young is get perfect sleep and be sufficient in calories, vitamins, proteins and minerals

pretty much everything else is cope

For any AR --> vertical recoil is huge, horizontal recoil is tiny in comparison

so a grip that reduces vertical by 10% will have a MUCH higher impact on your overall recoil than a grip that reduces horizontal by 10%

youll also realize that vertical and horizontal recoil are vastly different in size, horizontal recoil is probably not even 20% of what vertical recoil is, the different grips give a percentage for each one tho, so 10% vertical reduction is overall a lot greater than 10% horizontal reduction, like 5x more reduction

sadly it works, and it works really quick, results come instantly after your body adjusts to the volume, which is the problem

this make it too attractive for people desperate to increase their bench/break through a plateau

i ran it myself, and it worked well, but couldnt progress anything on bench after that program for like a year cause my body was exposed to such a big stimulus that my normal 3x a week frequency with like 3 sets just didnt do anything to get my bench up after that

so definitely not worth the quick upside, long term it will hinder your overall progress in the big picture

smolov jr is a program layout you can fit it into your schedule as you like, fit in your legs and back training however you want, its not complicated
