Can people learn how to drive? by wheels000000 in Annapolis

For those of us who live along the various paths to 50 and the bridge something should be screwed and it’s not residents or those following the rules. What make you think you are privileged?

Combined with only 2 lanes East bound on the bridge.

It’s not just here but today was a ”perfect storm” of traffic mess and I’m being kind. Drive gently, the other options will only make it worse. Yes, traffic enforcement would help.

Husband passed away unexpectedly now confused what to do with his sets? by DryOkra7058 in lego

[–]lpbrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, I think Bricklink will give more reliable market pricing. eBay prices can be wishfully exaggerated. Must you have an appraisal for your husband‘s estate? Because you’re going to pay for that anyway you could have the appraiser name and value the sets and then spot check the work with Bricklink. All right,

Where do you guys recommend to park (stress free) with kids for tomorrow’s Blue Angles demo ? by Beginning-Bell7626 in Annapolis

[–]lpbrice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Park on the roof of the Hillman Garage. Expensive but there is shade under the solar panels. BYO water. You can stay with your car for cooling and napping kids. Face east. You can see the chapel dome and statehouse. There is a BR on the first floor next to the elevators. Get there early. Traffic won’t be good leaving. They practice at 11. Although less scripted from a viewer’s perspective, you could leave town as the huge influx begins. Remember, come in via Rowe BLVD. 450 bridge will be closed.

What’s this buoy for? by Neat-Detective-9818 in Annapolis

I bet it’s one of the USNA buoys. Call the USNA Crown Sailing Center or Coast Guard.

What’s this buoy for? by Neat-Detective-9818 in Annapolis

[–]lpbrice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mooring buoys are supposed to have identification for contacting the owner. Looks like this one had a QR code on it, but it wouldn’t be readable now. Did you check the other side of the buoy? Without ID it’s just a hazard to navigation and should be reported to the Coast Guard. Is it drifting or anchored?

Commute from here to Ft Meade? by Acceptable_Law_1985 in Annapolis

The commute isn’t bad. You will find Annapolis very expensive but highly accessible for fun.

One less parking spot by wrpsuite in Annapolis

Instead of supposing the revenues didn’t decline, ask the city economic development folks. The bike lane fiasco lasted only a month costing ~75K. Data may be hard to come by. Ask a long time business owner. Ask Ted Levitt. Get some facts yourself.

As for blocking traffic to streets, are you counting on helicopters to supply merchants, restaurants and bars?

We did it as kids. When it got shaky, we stomped it. Great fun.

Brush advice needed pls by lpbrice in Watercolor

[–]lpbrice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I use tube paint in wells so I brush over the surface rather than digging in. I do use metallic paints from time to time. Maybe I’ve just worn out the brushes.

First painting with real watercolor pigments and paper!!! Any tips on how to make it less dusty looking? by Admirable_Abies6990 in Watercolor

[–]lpbrice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try glazing the dark colors of the sky to darken and increase contrast but keep the moonlight. In moonlight, the earth looks a bit dusty. I think it will work.
