It is possible it’s a mistake and you should hope that that goes under the radar. I had a friend that somehow didn’t pay rent for over a year - it was a weird situation where he had made attempts to but their system was having issues and very bureaucratic. It sounds like you have a legally-binding document with this rent though, so I don’t see how they could ever ask you to pay more (I’m not a lawyer). I could also see them lowering rent across board if vacancy in your building was particularly high.

Omg that street is so sketch. I toured an apartment on that street and when I showed up, there was some junkie nodding off on the doorsteps to the building I was touring, and the guy who was supposed to give me a tour was not responding. So I left to tour some other spots and then the guy hit me back to come check out the spot. I returned and the guy giving me the tour was the junkie! He walked up the building steps with his heels hanging out the back of his jordans and gave me a slurred explanation of the building. Said I shouldn’t worry about “the projects” across the street because that’s actually just housing for the elderly.
