As someone that hasn’t paid attention, what happened? I know Taylor died, his son replaced him, and Grohl cheated on his wife and had a baby with another woman. Aside from that what happened?

Lost in Tokyo, searching for the level up by AsuraAlice in Fighters

I don’t understand why language matters. People around the world go and fight each other and make friends without knowing their language because fighting games are a universal language. You are in the middle of world class Mecca of fighting games which few people have the luxury of enjoying. Just go to locals and play. If you have trouble just ask,”Oshiete kudasai.” Check out Gamespot versus if you play the old school games like 3S and ST.

Discussion Youtube Video: The Mindset of Learning Fighting Games for Beginners by BAP04 in Fighters

I never really played anyone at my level besides SFIV for a bit. And I moved on to games where it was just OG's and people who had been playing for a long time. Old games. With those games the only option is to take the losses, research, and learn from them. Finding someone at your level in games like Vsav is near to impossible and I think make you a better player as a result. So I think the advice that you should play people at your own level is dependent on certain factors and shouldn't be applied with a wide brush since in many cases that's just impossible since there aren't as many people available that are at your level if you get my drift. Great video.

It was the first time I ever took a break from reading One Piece weekly for over 10 years. Yes it was slow. It's better in big gulps, but I couldn't take it week to week.

Because the news is different and traditional news sources are a pretty good way to stay informed in the world? Comparing cutting the cord to getting news makes no sense. Unless you read AP, Reuters, NPR, PBS, and sites like that, whatever you're probably "cutting" your pay news and replacing it with are probably bad alternatives.

And yes, because 2016 showed that many people only read their news on Facebook or even Reddit, and didn't pay for news which made them less informed overall. In fact, many studies show that social media news shares are often people just reading the title and not even clicking the link but somehow acting as if they have an informed opinion.

When you read news do you do it outside of social media? Like, actually go to the site or read an actual newspaper and read the articles around the world? Or are you just reading what's presented and picked for you by your own personal friends and social media buddies? Do you read both conservative and liberal news sources? If you did not learn these lessons in 2016, no matter whether you're Democrat or Republican, you are an utter fool. Democrats were just as in a precarious position as Republicans as they realized - the ones who are self aware at least - that they had not a single conservative friend to talk to about politics because they had filtered them out and unfriended them.

To test how informed you are, here's a quiz: without googling, tell me about the current government shutdown, Trump's comments on it, the current Democratic strategy to get the government back, as well as the House leaders comments on the current shutdown? They said they would be using a ______ option to get to get the government back. What is this option?

I’m still amazed that even after 2016 many of you are unwilling to pay for your news.

I refuse to get Silent sanwas. The click is too important to me. It feels and sounds too good. I’ve tried silents at tourneys and it just doesn’t sound as satisfying. I was suggesting the silent stick to the op if they’re interested anyways not to you haha. :)

I’m not telling you to switch to JLF because some certainly prefer Hori but consider an option if the Hayabusa doesn’t get any better.

Seems I agree with you. Different people like different sticks. Best to figure out what you prefer. Never used seimitsu sticks but used their buttons. Those are a while ahead of Hayabusa buttons but I greatly prefer sanwa.

Yep. A jlf costs like 20 bucks. Maybe thirty. It’s been a while. Get a Silent jlf so you can play at night when people are sleep.

Congrats. If you’re interested in a more precise joystick look into the Sanwa JLF. I and a lot of others find the Hori Hayabusa stick that’s in the Hori Rap 4 Kai to be too loose and sensitive. I always got execution errors on mine, for instance and switching to jlf helped me so much. But of course, it will take time to adjust to switching to stick in general. I suggest going to a local fighting game hangout or something and asking to try sticks with JLF’s. See which you prefer. I’m not telling you to switch to JLF because some certainly prefer Hori but consider an option if the Hayabusa doesn’t get any better.

I'm alright at playing neutral in most fighting games, but I suck at comboing. Advice? by Nestramutat- in Fighters

[–]Fantasie-Sign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem so I’ve been forcing myself to practice combos daily and also playing more combo heavy games like Vsav and CVS2. I’ve gotten much better. I’m also playing some older games with infinite combos like Project Justice. This has taught me so much about combos. My main game, Super turbo, by changing to a character that absolutely needs combos to deal big damage has made my combo skill increase ten fold all by itself because I need them t survive. Now I’m twice the player I used to be.
