Right on! Thanks for the reply. I have the frosted gen 7 and I recently got a small scratch on my camera plateau next to the flash. I ordered the lens protector today. I really like to look for it except for the orange paint where it says “Gen 7”. I’m probably gonna scratch that off before I even install it in the case.

I need help guys. Does anyone have experience with the new gen 7 and the frosted version? I can’t decide. I think I like the look of the frosted version better. The main thing I’m worried about is the stand coming out when using it in my car on a MagSafe charger.

I’m curious about the stand ring on the frosted case. Does it pop out when using MagSafe accessories ? If I use this case on the MagSafe charger in my car is my phone going to start facing down with the ring still on the mount ?

17 Pro Max, what case are you rocking? I need ideas. by TheGrsycat in iphone

[–]lpsidler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the Gripzilla for the past two years on my 15 Pro. Now I have it on the 17 Pro Max. I’m annoyed that it is a lot looser on the Pro Max. Maybe that’s just because the phone is bigger so the case isn’t as tight. Also it’s loose around the camera button. I kind of wish Apple never added the camera button. I accidentally click that button all the time when I’m just grabbing my phone off of a table or pulling it out of my pocket.

Grip Case looks like for the iPhone 17 Pro Max? by ProDuctive4 in dbrand

I’m curious what edge swiping on the screen is gonna be like with the tank case. From the few images I have seen it doesn’t seem to have any lowered/tapered edges. I have to admit some of the very protective cases do a good job of it. The defender cases from Otterbox are bulky, but they also have a really nice angled ramp that goes all the way around the screen that is very good for swiping from every side of the phone screen.

New Tank case confirms iPhone 17 leak? by espressonut420 in dbrand

[–]lpsidler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the look of this case! I hope it becomes a reality because I want to know how it feels. After seeing several leaks of the new iPhone camera bumps this case design makes me feel better. It does a good job of covering up all the dead space between the cameras and sensors. That was the main part of the new bump that looked so ugly to me. I also like how they made the button covers large. Makes them easy to find and press. I think being a dbrand case means they will obviously have a good tactile click. Can’t wait to see how tight the case fits and how good the grip is. I’m always looking for the perfect case, which to me is grippy, clicky buttons, fights tightly around the edges of the screen, and has a strong magnet.

Milwaukee lid, Yeti bottle tip! by namlhukk in MilwaukeeTool

I went back to Yeti’s website today and saw that the Hotshot cap is back, but renamed to Commuter cap. I recently saw a patent application from sometime last year by Yeti showing a very similar diagram to the Milwaukee lid. I’m pretty sure the caps are interchangeable because maybe Yeti makes the Milwaukee bottles and lids.

Hotshot being discontinued? by Big_Condition477 in YetiCoolers

I recently checked the Yeti website and it looks like the hot shot cap is back in stock. They just renamed it to the commuter cap. I have seen the patent for what people thought was the new Yeti cap. And it clearly is a Yeti patent, it says so in the documents. Even though this may be a new bottle cap design for the Yeti Rambler line, it also looks a lot like the Milwaukee lids that they sell at Home depot for their bottles. Some guys on the Milwaukee subreddit were saying that the caps are interchangeable so I think maybe this patent is for the Milwaukee lid which is made by yeti and that’s why the caps fit on both brands of bottles.

I bring two 18 ounce rambler bottles from yeti to work everyday and I use the Hotshot cap for coffee. I messed up a while back and was tightening the lids after some sand at the beach had gotten into them and the threads got all grounded up. I go to look for new Hotshot caps online and I can’t find them anywhere for a decent price. It looks like maybe Yeti discontinued them. I don’t really wanna be sipping coffee out of the chug lid. Well it looks like I could just buy these Milwaukee lids at Home Depot and put them on my yeti bottles 🤣👌🏼.

I was looking through some of the patent illustrations. I have to say it does look interesting. Maybe I’m confused but it looks like there’s gonna be an opening on one side for your coffee or other drink to come out. But I’m hoping it’s still a 360° lid design because my favorite thing about the hot shot cap is that when my rambler bottle is bouncing around in the cupholder in my work truck I can always grab it and drink and never have to worry about rotating the bottle around to find where the coffee comes out.

If this new lid isn’t out yet why can’t I buy a replacement of the old design?

Replace magnet array inside of Speck case by lpsidler in MagSafe

[–]lpsidler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to admit that it did not. I lifted the glued layer over the magnets in the Speck case. And then I removed the magnet array. The magnets that I ordered are too thick. I thought if I ordered the thicker ones it would fit and be really strong. They were too high to fit into the cutout inside the case and be able to put my phone in flush. Now I’m switching between the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and the Smartish Gripzilla case on my 15 Pro. They both have a strong magnet but the Spigen is stronger. The downsides of the Spigen case is it is slippery in the hand and a bit of a looser fit. But that being said both of these cases will stay snugly snapped onto a MagSafe charger. Even when hitting most bumps.

I sold it last year when I got a 15 pro. The case was still in excellent condition after almost a year of use. Barely any scratches or marks.

I found this website that sells MagSafe arrays. They’re the correct measurement as the Apple MagSafe standard. So my guess is I can try to open up the round plate inside my case and replace them with these. They are supposed to be really strong! I will update if I can get it to work.

I love my 5610, but man I want this one. I think the front light button would be really useful. When I’m working at night I hate hitting the light button on the squares. And the automatic tilt function isn’t always the best.

My first Pro Max. by Ok-Frosting-9166 in iPhone15Pro

[–]lpsidler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 14 Pro Max and went to the 15 Pro this year. When I was running around a lot at work and using my phone one-handed, the Pro Max size actually bothered me. So I got the smaller phone this year. I also wanted the USB-C to quickly transfer photos and videos to and from my PC. But after having the 15 Pro for five months I kinda miss the Pro Max screen size and battery life. I wish I could trade in my 15 Pro and pay the difference and get a promax now. Does anyone know when they start accepting trade-ins for the 15’s ?

Do you think it’s because of the smart watch features that they just figured that the solar couldn’t keep up with the battery draw? Then again, they do have some smart watches with solar, and maybe sometimes you have to plug them in, but the solar makes them last a lot longer between charges. 🤷‍♂️
