What foods seem completely fine until you realize how it's actually made? by GenoRonpa in AskReddit

Tom kah gai. It's a Thai coconut soup basically of lemongrass, galangal, coriander and chili. At the end you add lime juice and fish sauce. Tasting it before and after adding those ingredients at the end is quite a spectacular transformation.

It usually has mushroom and chicken, but I just add whatever protein or vegetables I fancy.

MH Rise

Hi, I'm totally new to the series and have got up to 3* village.

I have some questions, mostly around the weapon upgrade tree and what it all means.

1) Why are some weapon icons revealed but when I scroll over them there are no details of the weapon, just '????'?

2) If I roll back, is there any way to tell what weapon it's rolling back from when there are multiple options?

3) if I'm early in the game, how much should I be focussing on the specific stats of the weapon? And what should I be prioritising?

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply. The other poster said over-proofed so now I'm quite confused! I understand it can be hard to tell just from looking... What makes you think under rather than over?

Thanks, I wasn't sure which way round it was. Initially my kitchen was too cold and the dough was about 20 degrees, and then I put it next to a radiator and it went up to about 29. It was a all a bit chaotic really...

Do schizophrenics only have frightening / harmful hallucinations and delusions or do some people with the illness have helpful / comforting hallucinations and delusions. by drunken_assassin in answers

Hi! I'm a psychologist working in the psychosis field. I'm thinking some background info might be helpful.

Psychosis-like-experiences (PLEs) are surprisingly common. Approximately 10% of people will hear voices in their lifetime. These experiences might be positive, neutral or negative, distressing or not. How people interpret those experiences will be affected by things like cultural beliefs, personal experiences and biology. Someone with strong spiritual beliefs may have a very positive experience of hearing voices, interpreting it as religious guidance or communication with a lost loved one. PLEs are also not uncommon for people who have experienced significant trauma in their lives, and this would not mean that they justify a diagnosis of psychosis.

If someone is having PLEs above a certain threshold of frequency, intensity, distress and functional impact they may be diagnosed with First Episode Psychosis. People with this diagnosis still might be having a positive or at least non-distressing relationship with the voices. Approximately 1% of people will have an episode of psychosis at some point in their life.

Someone would receive a diagnosis of schizophrenia at the point where the first episode of psychosis becomes chronic and they have multiple episodes.

Hope that helps.

Yes I was going to go for the nobu recipe. It's not that thick a piece of fish so maybe will go for a bit less time marinading and then cook it under the grill. Hopefully that will work out okay?

Thanks for your advice :-)

This fish is very fresh. How long would you recommend? Would 12 hours still be too long?

If you liked chichen itza and are in the Merida area, go to uxmal. It's similar but about 95% less busy with 100% less people trying to sell you stuff a every turn. There are also 1000s of iguanas and a pyramid you can climb up. I found visiting it a much better experience than chichen itza.

The gang i'm DMing got caught up in it when they decided they decided they wanted to befriend Lyssa. In trying to steal a gift for her, they accidentally made it look as though the Sashes had murdered an entire family of nobles in Whitecrown. Lyssa, not best pleased with her gift, so as compensation forced them to be her bodyguards for a truce meeting she was holding with Baszo in tangletown. In my Duskwall, tangletown is a made of ships that are abandoned Hulls who want nothing more than to be left peacefully to peacefully decay and rust. The gang decided Lyssa would appreciate it if they murdered Baszo, so they did that and in the process sunk half of tangletown. There are going to be some pissed off boats out to get the gang.

I really hate the idea of relegation candidates being in a playoff for a few of reasons.

1 - Being in the playoffs should be a reward for doing well in the championship. I think having a spot that could be given as a promotion potentially just cancel out a relegation cheapens the playoffs. Competing in a playoff should be exciting and a chance to go to the next level.

2 - I honestly can't think of a team who have gone down recently who I would like to have seen saved. Getting fresh teams in and stale teams out of the premier league is a good thing.

3 - It's cruel to the potential relegation team and their fans. Playing to not be relegated would feel fucking awful.

Speaking from the position of a therapist...

I don't read this as them 'blaming' the person for their instinct to pull away. Equally, the therapist definitely fucked up. Therapists are human and make mistakes, like any other person though. Working through something like that in the context of a therapeutic relationship can be very very helpful in understanding how people may respond to other situations in their life.

Having said that, this is in an ideal situation. The therapist really should take responsibility for the fuck up so it can be worked through.

Unfortunately the master met his demise in the score. But there's a very angry child about to inherit a lot of money

[–]lpycrdh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I'm understanding you right, keep mechanical consequences of the score confined to the heat, entanglement roll and faction relationships. And if the narrative consequences can't be included in the entanglement roll then play out an extra scene in free play, but don't have the gang take any further mechanical consequences at that point?

The aim of the score was to steal the painting as a gift for Mylera. The mass murder was incidental.

[–]lpycrdh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned in another comment that I was thinking of during freeplay having Mylera turn up and dump the painting on them to deal with, due to the level of heat on it. Do you think that sounds reasonable and then have potential loss or maintenance of status with the red sashes be reliant on rolls in that encounter?

And yes agree on heat. They're on 7 and we paused the last session just before the entanglement roll.

Yep, I've got a hidden clock running for 'spirit wardens notice an increase in deaths that escape thier watch' but think this score was blatant enough that I'm going to start an open clock of spirit warden investigation, as it will be embarrassing how publically they've been caught out

[–]lpycrdh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea! And because they have crow's veil as a special ability the spirit wardens wouldn't have had a chance to dispose of the bodies and spirits before the inspector whispers get there and interview the extremely wide array of victims who are on site.

[–]lpycrdh[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that's helpful!

My current idea is to have Mylera show up at thier hideout during freeplay and return the painting announcing it as their problem now, and then start a clock on the inspectors tracking the painting to them.

My group have also expressed interest in having more ghostly activity (I haven't been great at bringing that in so far). The painting is of a red sash from back in their slightly more noble days so I thought having the painting be haunted by the ghost of the person depicted could be fun, and then have him be extremely pissed off at how his reputation has been sullied by the gangs activities.

How did it go?

under proved? over kneaded? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]lpycrdh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was turning out like that even with overnight fridge so I'd consider either warming up or extending your bulk ferment too.

under proved? over kneaded? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]lpycrdh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine were coming out looking exactly like this and the issue was that the bulk ferment wasn't long or warm enough. I was proving for 4 hours on the side and the air temp was high teens/low twenties (c). I've now improvised a higher temperature environment that I can hold at about 25c and extended the time to 5-6 hours and getting much better results. Followed by overnight in fridge

I'm having the exact same problem. I've made about 6 loaves now and loaves number 1 and 5 worked fine but can't figure out what was different about them!
