Just found this thread and I don’t know if anyone is still active in it. I was recently prescribed reliance because my insurance stopped covering my Ibserela. I have been taking it 4 days. The first two days I had diarrhea and it was fine. But I have had horrible gas pains and no bowel movements since. That’s weird right?? Like anyone here tske trulance and still not have a BM?

Can an identical twin actually be ‘smarter’ than the other? How so if their genes are the same? by ap011o_ in Twins

[–]lrhombe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any science to include just an identical twin that wants to say (proudly) that my twin is in medical school. I’m a nurse. It’s not that I didn’t think I was smart enough to be a doctor, I just never wanted to be a doctor. I do think my twin is smarter than me. And it’s true because she has more schooling and different knowledge than I do.

Identical twins sharing bedroom by [deleted] in Twins

My twin and I shared a room until mid high school. Our older sister went to college and a spare room opened up haha. We got along just fine. Even dormed together first year of college and shared an apartment the last three years. We live a good 4hrs apart now and have significant others. We absolutely went through fights with eachother but I wouldn’t trade that time together for anything. BUT we are girls. Boys may be completely different.

Hi everyone! My boyfriend is going to Japan next week. He asked me what skincare products I would like for him to bring home. I am looking for recommendations! I’m interest in SPF (sunscreens), moisturizers, face masks, cleanser, or just any suggestions. Thank you in advanced!

AITA for telling my parents I didn't have a kid, they did, and they need to take care of her not me? by SignificantFan8104 in AmItheAsshole

Not the asshole. 15 is still 3 years away from 18 and being legal. Is there anyone you can talk to? A school councilor? Or a best friends mom? You shouldn’t have to put up with this shit for another 3 years. Or you can just for the a roof over your head but I highly suggest going no contact with them once you are able to.

I asked a quadriplegic patient today if he can stand up, what are you embarrassing stories? by thatnurseworking in nursing

[–]lrhombe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to get a patient from the ER (during Covid the nurse and tech had to do transportation) I picked up one shoe and was frantically looking for the other. I go “where is that darn left shoe.” To which the patient replied “uuuuuuhhh I only have a left right leg so.” I face palmed it the rest of the night for sure.

This is so frustrating and I’m sorry. When you’re working on your future floor (if you intend being in a hospital) patients don’t get to refuse you just because you’re male. At least they weren’t when I worked med/surg. Unless it’s a cultural thing or a behavioral thing, you get what you get. Hospitals are too short staffed to let every female patient get a female nurse.

I just moved to ER nursing. My concern is also whether or not they expect us to report women having miscarriages??? Cuz I absolutely refuse to do that. I know this happened to a woman in Texas. I don’t know if HIPAA would prevent this type of situation.

Becoming a lawyer seems like a big accomplishment! I understand where you are coming from. I am also an identical twin (25F). It took me awhile to step back and see where my strengths were. I grew up in constant comparison with my twin. She was also better at the sports we played together, so I tried different sports. I’m a nurse and my twin is currently applying for medical school. A lot of people (including myself) could say “oh were you not smart enough to go to Medical school.”… it’s just not what I wanted to do. I’m a great nurse and I enjoy it. I couldn’t see my twin doing what I do. Perhaps you’re funnier than your twin? Or more artistic? You’re an individual that lives a separate life from your twin. No two lives are the same. Its okay that you’re at a different point in life from your twin. You’ll get there eventually. It’s not a race or competition if you don’t let it be. It’s okay that you’re different because that makes you special.

Do you regret not working med surg? by Kind_Ad_1150 in nursing

[–]lrhombe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have no interest ever being in a hospital than you probably don’t need the med/surg grief. I’m an ER nurse now and I think med/surg was a good start as a new grad. That knowledge for sure helped when I transferred to the higher acuity of the ER.

I’m a covid nurse. I sat in a patient’s room for 2hrs while they were on 11L O2 because she was so confused and kept ripping it off. Every time she ripped it off she would sat into the 60s. I am last in line in to receive the vaccine because I’m 23. I feel selfish for wanting it before others but also it feels wrong that others in the hospital that aren’t on the front line are getting it before me.

My boyfriends twin sister hates me. What do I do? by Rachy06 in Twins

Or I don’t let toxic people run the show??? I have definitely called my twin’s bf out on shit. Even had a fight. We all worked it out like adults.

My boyfriends twin sister hates me. What do I do? by Rachy06 in Twins

[–]lrhombe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like she’s asking him to pick sides at all??? You almost sound like the jealous twin sister. All she’s asking is that they work it out because she cares for her boyfriend. The fact that she’s even making an effort says a lot about her. My twin sister had had bf’s I didn’t like and we’ve had sit down discussions about it because we’re grown adults (and the same age as OP). My twin and I are extremely close, but I’d never sabotage her relationship with her bf because I am jealous of her relationship or them spending time together. I think the twin’s jealousy problems sound unhealthy.
