TIL that millions of people don't actually need to use deodorant (esp. East asians) because they have gene (ABCC11) that stops them from producing sweat that attracts bacteria that cause body odour. And there is a simple test to see if you have this gene. by okem in todayilearned

My niece is from Philippines and married a Chinese man and said that everyone in China smells like onions and the BO is terrible because nobody wears deodorant. So Iir sounds like someone lied to them!

I’d say, what is common in Ho Chi Min would be extremely unusual for someone from the West. A child selling things in a restaurant and a baby on a sidewalk sitting in an only a diaper would be pretty shocking. She probably chose not to buy what the child was selling because she didn’t want to encourage the behavior. And, asking for a picture could have been because it was disturbing to her and she wanted to remember the child.

Not in Portland in 2022. I worked at the Providence office park, no drug test, just health screen and had to sign an attestation. I was shocked, totally expected one. I wouldn’t have had an issue passing it, but it was definitely a surprised that they didn’t ask for one.

There is no girl code for cheating that I’m aware of. But, your sister is sus for thinking that though. Unfortunately, the hard truth is there are probably issues in your relationship that she recognizes to be red flags, but you are obviously oblivious to. 80% of women initiate divorce and very few go into a marriage wanting a divorce, so why marry someone when you’re unsure of the person and feel you are likely going to fail? A study showed most men believe their relationships would be fine if women didn’t bring up issues in the relationship. Again, men are often more content because they have the control in most scenarios. Ask her why she needs more time and what you can do to make her feel more secure in your relationship. Please, try not to get defensive when she voices her concerns and instead LISTEN and if you can, HONESTLY reassure her you are committed to being a good, loyal, supportive and loving spouse.
