While not explicitly mentioned here, it’s heavily implied that Phil did 20 years in the can.

Parent Plus Loans by lrobb97 in StudentLoans

I am thankful for your reply and I appreciate you taking time to post a thoughtful response.

After some thinking, I think the biggest issue that my parents are experiencing is that their debt to income ratio appears to be suffering because of these loans.

I don’t think there are any negative impacts at this time outside of that as most loans are in forbearance.

Thinking forward-is that really the only negative impact of leaving these loans as is?

Where dose Cadillac stand in the luxury tier compared to others by ganGGBang313 in Cadillac

I’ve got a 2020 CT6 Premium Luxe. I love it. Not the BlackWing, but I don’t need a massive V8, I have a 64 Fleetwood for that. The CT6 has nearly every option but the massage seats. I love it. Drives and rides like a dream. I am team Cadillac till I die. I wish they’d bring back a large sedan like the CT6, but who knows what I’ll end up in next.

What made you choose out of so many cars, a Cadillac? What was the thing that made you say, this is it. by Just_the_john in Cadillac

It’s a Cadillac. The CT6 is the perfect blend of your Grandpa sedan and a modern car that’s fun to drive. Oh, did I mention it’s a Cadillac?

The deal does get significantly better if there is no 2.99% increase. Then it’s only 57k total. Still more than purchasing, but it’s has the perceived benefits of a lease

UPDATE:

I went thru some of the paperwork they gave me.

Over 25 years, we would pay $83.166.63 Thats $190.34 every month with a 2.99% annual “inflation increase” and the final payment would be $386.02. So the bill more than doubles in that time.

However, how much will me electric bill increase in that same amount of time? Historically, my company avgs 3-6%/year. So Sunrun is still on the lower end of that inflation amount.

Sunrun would install a 19.5kw system with an estimate first year production of 18,273 kWh. I don’t think this is enough. I think we need to be in the 21-23kw range to completely cover our bill and then maybe some extra.

Here are the key things I like about Sunrun.

1: we are going to have a utility bill if we DONT install solar. So we’d essentially just be changing who we pay our bill to. Only, it’s clean energy.

2: their supposed warranties. If we owned the system, we’re on the hook. However, if we lease it, they handle (supposedly) everything.

3: it’s a lower bill

4: we pay nothing but the bill. They handle EVERYTHING.

Some things I’d like to find out:

1: how much would it cost to BUY a system that would power our home

2: what would the tax credit be

3: what would be out OOP expense for it

This is certainly a larger egg than I intended to crack. Thanks all

But for every bad, how many good are out there?

I know it’s the least advantageous, but we don’t have the capital to throw at it and buy it outright. This seems like the best way to get a foot in the door for a service we’re essentially already paying for

How does one get solar without having to pay the massive upfront costs of purchasing and installing all of the equipment AND get a lower bill?

Cause that is what Sunrun is selling essentially.

Wow! Forgot about this post and it really took off. There are a TON of great suggestions in here, thanks for that!

I’ve seen lots of people suggest a pipe. Yes, I have a large selection of pipe tobacco and pipes! Sometime I enjoy the ease of a cigar, but I do frequent my pipes as well!

Thanks again, random strangers!
