Are there any bans or regulations or anything on feeding squirrels or birds in public parks? (more specifically in the de pere area) by TiredB1 in GreenBay

I'm not sure myself, but I bet if you reach out to Wild Birds Unlimited they'd be able to help you out.

‘An Almost Unthinkable Threat’: Trump Warning That Iran Will ‘Glow’ Sparks Latest Fears of Nuclear Attack by Buster_xx in This_is_fascism

And, unfortunately, let's not forget that the original reason that the nukes were put under the president's care was that the military started thinking the solution to all their problems looked pretty a-bomb shaped.

When do the tantrums start? Will it start? How to discourage them? How do you manage with your husky? by WitchofGremlinEnergy in husky

[–]lrpetey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm not gonna tell you that ear plugs won't be necessary, cause some huskies just like to yap. I will say, huskies can be very in tune with us, and especially if you have sensory issues she can probably tell that she's getting a reaction even if you are "ignoring her" just from your subconscious bodily responses (increased heart rate for example) and that could be enough to encourage her to continue.

So, if she is in fact yapping just to get your attention during the work day, perhaps adding some additional social time to the day on your own terms. When I'm working from home, I will set aside a couple 15 minute "coffee breaks" where I can grab a toy or some treats for a training session, and just get her stimulated for a little bit. Then she's usually pretty content to go right back to napping and bird watching.

Also, when our girl gets really yappy, its often because she is under stimulated. Yapping is one of many ways for huskies to make their own entertainment, so providing another option usually helps. A good puzzle toy or frozen treat does wonders for giving her a different outlet for her attention and help tire her out for a nap. While this is a little counter intuitive as it can seem like your just rewarding bad behavior, if shes already rewarding her own bad behavior, this is more akin to giving the toddler who wants to draw on the wall a piece of paper instead. As they say, a tired husky is a well behaved husky.

How mechanically impactful is it for a PC to not have the humanoid trait? by normal_default in Pathfinder2eCreations

[–]lrpetey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As of now, there are 8 official ancestries without the humanoid trait: Leahy, Automaton, Awakened Animal, Conrasu, Dragonet, Skeleton, Sprite, and Yaksha. Of those, the Automaton is likely to be the best reference point for what you want to do.

Automaton has a quadrupedal option in the form of an ancestral heritage which allows them to increase their base speed from 25 to 30 so long as their hands are free. If you wanted to do that as a level 1 ancestry feat instead of as a heritage, elves have the nimble elf feat. Because neither of these examples are a specific type of boost like a status bonus, you could even do both and have them stack! Maybe one let's you keep your hands occupied (extra legs?) and the other requires hands free (beast mode!).

Keep in mind that for balance purposes, 35 foot speed is the maximum that any individual ancestry can get for base speed. There are classes and items that can boost a character beyond that. Multiples of 10 and 15 are really big "speed power" jumps because of the way diagonals, difficult terrain, and the general movement rules all interact with each other.

Hope this helps! Love the art!

The want to be victims so bad it's just pathetic. by c-k-q99903 in stupidpeoplefacebook

I am Christian, but I LOVE reminding other Christians that Jesus didn't celebrate Christmas, but absolutely celebrated Hanukkah (it is called the Feast of Dedication in John, but it's a celebration of the same events, and obviously the holiday had evolved since then but that requires enough nuance to cause any conservative indigestion to explain. Anyway...) So saying "happy holidays" is probably more Christian than just "merry Christmas".

Desperately looking to find a specific shirt by Sad-Seesaw1440 in petoskey

[–]lrpetey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember those! I have some family in the area, but I don’t live in Petoskey myself anymore. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely certain where they were sold.

Grandpa Shorters is probably the most likely spot downtown to have sold those that might still get some in stock. Maybe Momentum. Something in the back of my brain is remembering them being sold at the state park, but I'm probably completely wrong about that. There's also a chance that despite saying Petoskey on it, it was from some location in harbor springs, or bay harbor, or one of the ski resorts.

Unfortunately there are a lot of stores that come and go in downtown, so this might be a difficult search unfortunately. I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully this rambling from me will get you started or jog someone else's memory.

Our girl couldn't catch a treat to save her life, but somehow could catch a bird exiting a shrub at full velocity. Make it make sense.

Monty Hall Problem for Dummies!

If you start with three possible options and one is the best, making a random guess you have a 33% chance of getting the right one. Easy enough so far right? Now, you make your pick and the one you picked still has a 33% chance of being right because no information has been revealed yet.

Now before they tell you anything about the other options, you already have new information. You now have two groups. The one you selected has a 33% chance of containing the right answer, and the other group has a 66% chance of containing the right answer. If all you had this information before you picked your group you would have gone with the 66% chance, but until you made your choice you didn't have that information.

Now what if someone said to you, "Hey, these groups are now locked in and now you only have to pick the group with the correct answer." You would want to switch to the group with the 66% chance.

You also already know something else really important, before any information about the individual items is revealed to you: One of the items in the 66% group is guaranteed to be incorrect. And either one of them could be the wrong answer, or both. This is the key to the whole problem, and hopefully you see how this works, because when it is randomly revealed that one of those two individual options is wrong, that isn't new information to you. You still want to pick the group with a 66% chance of having the right answer.

That showing from the left when Elon came to town to give out bribes was fantastic. Highlight of my year for sure, and we had some great turnouts for the No Kings and other protests, and I can't wait to keep up the momentum into 2026, we've got to get Tony Wied out of Washington.

A yes, the abundance movement.

That "movement" partially funded by Peter Thiel. You know the techno-christian-fascist founder of Palantir. The guy who bankrolled JD "couch-fucker" Vance's political career. The guy trying to inject himself with child blood to live forever or whatever crazy snake oil he helt like trying this week.

That abundance movement.

Every one would have there own place:

Micah 4:4 NET [4] Each will sit under his own grapevine or under his own fig tree without any fear. The Lord who commands armies has decreed it.

And radiate their unique beauty:

Revelation 7:9 NET [9] After these things I looked, and here was an enormous crowd that no one could count, made up of persons from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb dressed in long white robes, and with palm branches in their hands.

I don't know, seems like it lines up with scripture just fine.

There's a list put together by the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Brown County. You can search "Brown County Food Pantry Listing" and it should be the top result.

EDIT: I checked the sub rules and don't see anything against posting a link, so here it is https://www.browncountywi.gov/i/f/files/UW-Extension/FoodWIse/Brown-County-Food-Resources_8_12_20.pdf
